 I'm not saying that I should of not wrecked. But it's hard to do when you're playing dodge ball in the main! I guess I should go and drive oval. From what you tell me you have to dodge the other drivers each time they try to take you out each lap EA:nod: there is always next time. and as for your second 12th scale race, I guess being a national Oval champ and being sponsored by Speedmerchant for 12th scale onroad and Shumacher for Touring car someone must think your a good driver. we'll see about the laps next time. guess I'll have to go out and buy a new CRC Carpet Knife

Anyone have a good way to mark body and antenna holes? It seems I always end up guessing where the antenna is and end up with a bunch of, or big, holes.

EAMotorsports 03-14-2004 03:24 PM

Paperboy....On all my bodies (oval, TC, 12th, etc) I mark the holes before I paint them. You can also mark your wheel wells when the body is clear as well. It makes it much easier.

Hope this helps

Yeah I do that, but what I cant figure out is how to drill the antenna so the rest of the holes line up. Because the antenna isnt flexible, and its a lot higher than the body posts, it has to be done first.

EAMotorsports 03-14-2004 04:08 PM

I take the antenna out of the mount and lay it down then set the body down and try that....Thats how I do it...

12L4 picture....hope its just a proto-type...

I don't know if anyone from Associated reads this thread or not, but why is it that EVERY competitive 12th scale car in the world has the batterys laid out fore and aft EXCEPT Associated.

There are a number of reasons the cars are laided out that way.....doesn't anyone at Associated race or drive a 12th scale car? I would imagine that Barry Baker must have told them that cross-wise was not the way to go.....Mike Blackstock!!!! Did anyone listen to him? Surely he must have told them this was no good.......Argh!!!!!

Just my .02........

It (refering to battery layout) won Cleveland and Snowbirds but its no good?

Locating Antenna Hole

I take a small wood dowel the same size as the antenna and lay down the antenna and install the dowel in it's place. Cut it as long as needed to fit inside the body but still show you where to drill.

Although I havent driven a t-bar car... Does it really matter the way the batts are configured? Since two batteries side by side are the same widthy as a battery is long, so it equals out no? And if you were really concerned about the batteries being too far away from center, then dont buy a t-bar car....

spyderx 03-14-2004 07:20 PM

Personally, the only advantage I can see to placing them front to back is that it is easy to adjust battery position forward or backward.
