I would highly recomend the Novak GT7 or the LRP Quantum 2. You could also look ino the Keyance Zero V Extreem. The Keyance is a very nice speedo, a little on the pricey side and not found on many hobby shops. The LRP Quantum 2 is the new kid on the block but it's suposed to better than the original Quantum and that was a very nice speedo. The Novak GT7 is the least expensive of he bunch but by no means is it any less of a speedo compared to the other 2 I mentioned. Any one of these I would say are excelent choices for 12th scale.

Hold off on the CK 3.1....the 3.2 is now in production...I was lookign at them in Cleveland...they look sweet...basically the 3.1 with the larger diff, and better durability (not that the 3.1 was brittle....not by a longshot)!

Has anyone tried the IRS caster blocks for the 12L3,and the Silva spring steel T bar for the 12L3.

ChrisP 11-28-2003 07:28 PM

My buddy picked up the T-plate...but won't be able to try it out in race conditions for another week and a half...

I held off on the IRS Caster blocks...I'm thinking of going with the old front end...and $45-50 for the caster blocks...I think I'm with you and will be waiting for a review:confused:

The spring steel Tplate is well worth the $.

I bought the T plate, not sure on the IRS caster blocks, but the LHS has alot of stuff for 1/12 scale,CRC and 12L3 parts.

airtronics servo

Whats a good one for a 1/12 scale ? To me it would not have to be to torqueee, not that much up front to pull right or left... Thanks:) I"m getting ready to purchase a 1/12 scale is why all the questions....:D

Has anyone made their own multi rings donuts? I need some info... How you did it? I thinking the best way for gluing them together is using a old rim with wax paper over it? Thanks
:tire:

Re: airtronics servo

If you want to stick with Airtronics, get the 94145. There are others from Futaba, JR, and KO that are good. There was a discussion a while back about it in this thread. Get a top name like the above and you won't go wrong.

hitec servos get bad press but I've had good luck with the HS-5245MG digital, never had any centering problems or any other problems with it.

On the torque I dont think 31oz/in. is enough on a high traction track(like carpet)and I also trust plastic gears(NOT),dont get to hung up on a name, anybodys upper end on servos are good.

The Airtronics 94145 is a metal gear servo. It's one of the fastest servos out (and you need that for 12th). 33oz/in is more than enough torque and holding power for a 12th scale.
