Corally also made special M3 cap head screws.

you are correct they are usually snug but the pair I just got are REAllY tight. I def need some small diameter head m3’s. Contact and some others are much more forgiving.
I had some of the corallys years back are they still available?

What am I supposed to do? Should I be using a different screw to mount the tires? Or do I just have to live with this? Thanks.

Schumacher U7298 are made for these rims and have a "smaller" head

We used a lot of parts from older cars at our own Pro10 cars and most of the stuff is discontinued now.
They do. I used CRC, AE,Yoko and Schumi springs. All fit on the same retainer.

BTW is there any specific retainer which works the best for holding the springs.
I know I had one which was perfect and another one which was not that good but can´t remember which was which.
Long time gone since I build my cars or replaced a spring.
From what I remember I had the old CRC metal one the CRC plastic and the 12R5 retainer.

I think one of them was easy to replace a spring and hold perfectly.

When in doubt, buy the spring retainer from that company. Always the safest bet

What are general opinions of the Contact tires? I got a set of the us spec tires and am wondering how well they hold up to jft/bsr.

Just run the tires and see what you think. I run CRC's only.

I don't rate them. I've run them on grey ozite, ETS black and asphalt and they are nowhere near the Ultis that are the go to tyre here.

YMMV.

I'm thinking about getting back into carpet after a 20+ year hiatus. Is there a good source for setup info for 12th scale on-road? Kind of tough to muddle through over 3K posts, thanks ya'll

terrible , lol i just went through the same thing took about 10yrs off of rc and just getting back into it , petit rc setup database has lots of setups from around the globe and from what i've seen and been told with alot of these newer 12th scales the kit setups are good enough to get you out there doin some laps. theres quite a few cars out there so i would just pick the one that floats your boat ( i went w/ the new awesomatix a12) which is really different from alot of whats out there i figured if im starting from scratch learning a car might as well try something different , but alot of the other cars are center spring , side spring and tube damper cars like which is the more tried and true platform. you prob already know there car specific threads on here to with lots of knowledgeable people willing to answer your questions and help out. the worst part is spending all the $$ rebuying everything you need if you sold it alll like i did , setup equip , tools ,tire truer etc but i guess thats all part of the fun. good luck and enjoy
