Make sure you have the 1s check box checked when you program the esc. Sometimes I forget to click it when I switch back and forth between 1s and 2s.

That's only programmed on the tekin Hotwire?

Yes. You can't set it without the hotwire.

So what's the body of choice these days for stock 1/12?

On a hooked up track this body is magic for 17.5

I was going to suggest this for mod but without any first hand experience I didn't want to pass on bad info if I was wrong.

Please don't assume you are wrong. The AMR-12 is a great all-around body for all classes. But, this body might not be the best choice for your track, traction level, driving style and so on. You're best to test and see what body works for you. :sneaky:

The protoform strakka is a pretty good body, nice and neutral and its pretty roomy in the front to clear taller front suspension assemblies.

I too have found the strakka to be very good, the CRC lola is very close to the strakka in feel.

I personally wouldn't call the Strakka a neutral body. It is lower downforce, intended for stock and super stock classes. As such, it will have a lot of steering compared to an AMR-12 and in low bite will likely feel crazy aggressive. For stock/super stock I think the Strakka will always be a touch faster than the AMR, providing you are comfortable with the decreased downforce. It all depends on grip and feel preference, but I think the Strakka will have a bit of an edge in those classes - providing you can wheel it.

At Cleveland, on the new carpet, I actually contemplated running a Strakka in mod :deathstar

You would suggest the AMR for low to Med bite stock racing then?

I would always recommend having both on-hand, but I would start with the AMR, yes. If it feels stuck, go to the Strakka.

DesertRat 01-05-2016 11:15 AM

To be honest, I'm not sure if I liked the Strakka more than the CRC Mohawk.

Racermac73 01-05-2016 12:30 PM

IMO the CRC Audi feels more balanced than anything else.. Not necessarily more or less grip but a very neutral and balanced feel
