A few of you guys are looking for voltage boosters.. The best one (i know of in the world) that most the people at the top of BRCA nationals including david spashett etc, is

http://www.rcdynamics.co.uk/Products.html

He will send worldwide no problem, and they never miss a beat.

Of course you will have problems with your receiver and servo since there is no BEC in the CC 1S. http://www.castlecreations.com/produ...o-onecell.html

You NEED a booster, battery or external BEC to power the RX and servo. Plus you still get that enormous footprint of a Mamba Pro.

This question is purely out of curiosity. What would happen if you ran an external booster on a 1s esc that had an internal booster? Would it double-boost the voltage or create a puff of smoke?

The booster would take the voltage of 6v to the receiver/servo/pt directly so what the speedos internal booster was doing is irrelevant.. you can actually disconnect the red and black wires that go from speed control to receiver to be sure, and even connect the booster into the receivers channel 2 socket, and then connect the white signal wire from the speed control into the spare plug in the booster.

I've been using a LiFe RX pack and still have the ESC's BEC connected to the RX for four years of racing with no ill effects to my Tekin RS. I haven't gone to using a booster to have one more component to fail. (Never had a battery failure or malfunction yet.) Also the combo of RS and LiFe weighs less than most 1S ESCs.

As long as you wire them in parallel it won't bump up the voltage and will use the higher voltage of the two boosters but think about it, why would you want two boosters? Adding a bit of lead works better than a booster for weight.

Best to read the instructions that came with the ESC before using any booster. Some BEC circuits in ESCs can be damaged by external voltage. You might find you have to use a receiver pack for 2S also.

I've been using the vtx1 and am more than satisfied with it. I have no plans of adding a booster to the already boosted esc, my question was purely academic. I'm a curious type. Thank you for the reply, I appreciate it.

Ran my 'skinny' car for the first time at our club on Friday night. Went really well and there's plenty more to come! This is just for fun really, not taking this design too seriously!
