That's some serious pinion action going on.

Worst case all you need to do is put them on a truer. If not then you'll save a few pennies because they're slightly less than the Jaco branded ones.
Xceed foams are not made by Jaco and never have been. Xceed make 8th tyres, and their compounds are based on that. They aren't badly out from the box, but a true on the truer is needed to make sure that you have the same diameter side to side, and true tyres.

They're good tyres. They don't chunk and split as easily as Jaco, and they give excellent grip. However, they are probably 0.1/0.2s per lap slower than Jaco, but much easier to drive. I find I get a better time over eight minutes from Xceed than Jaco because I am not always on the edge of my talent! I am a C/D finalist at UK Nationals, and have been making some progress up the lists using Xceed because they are more consistent to drive. HTH

What is best is the motor with the most power. Power is torque x revs, so a motor with revs can produce the same power as a motor with torque. It doesn't matter which one you have, as the speed you get depends totally on gearing for the track layout. I find GM motors very tolerant of high heat so you can gear them up a bit and find a bot more top speed for an open track. However, for a tighter track, you have to gear them down, but then they will accept more timing. HTH

I'm not aware that Schumacher ever even had a 1/12th car.

Yes they did... But you have to go way back in the history of 12th scale...

The Schumacher "C" car...

I raced Schumacher 12th scales back in the early 1980s. They have considered it a few times since but the last I heard they had decided they would not make enough money for it to be viable.

Ben was testing a Hot Bodies prototype a while ago but I've not heard anything about it for a while.

Cecil Schumacher built his business on 12th cars, starting back in 1981. First it was a lexan car (here) the XL, and then the C Car (here) bith of which were very successful in Europe

Cecil Schumacher invented the ball differential in about 1980, and although it said 'Patent Pending' on the parts, he never did get a patent. Cecil was a gearbox engineer, and he used a design from a gear checking machine as the basis for his design. IT is Cecil's original design that has been copied by everyone else. HTH

Yep, I had the XL. That is a very well preserved one, though it's a later one as it has the cut out in the bottom of the chassis near the front. The early ones didn't have that. I've never been able to find a photo of the original stick pack version of the C Car, which is the one I had.

Sorry, but that is absolutely and completely wrong. Xceed has had several different tire lines including Jaco made ones. See this page:

http://ashfordhobby.com/detail.aspx?ID=6846

In addition to those, they have also had Italian made and Japanese made lines.

Whatever happened with those Gecko tires? I liked the idea of a seamless tire but they seem to have disappeared.
