when you push the o-ring in put a little screwdriver down the side of the oring to create an air gap that allows excess oil to bleed out. Otherwise you wont be able to jam the o-ring in properly.
And yes be carefull not to cross thread the big plastic end onto the shock body. |
Also use which brand name & Shore tire ?

Side Mount Bullet Connectors
I am having trouble finding bullet connectors with the half-moon cut out on top for side mounting (90 degrees from wire to connector) battery connections. Any suggestions? I've looked everywhere! What is the proper name for these things?

Hey guys,
I am currently working on converting an old Cox .049 GTP Nissan to electric. I found it in a partially-assembled gas-powered state, so I decided to use hand-me-down parts from my other cars to complete it. It's going to be using the motor and ESC from my Evader ST and whatever receiver I can find. Seems to be going well so far. I've switched around the rear axle to put the diff/spur gear assembly on the side of the old motor mount. That way, I can modify the gas motor's mount slightly to make it accomodate the 540-size motor I'll be putting in. Everything is working so far, but if anyone has suggestions or pointers for me, I'd gladly accept them! The attached picture is the chassis with nothing on it, and before I flipped the axle and modified a few things... |

Hey kk4hg, just use the normal connectors and use a dremel or similar to grind a groove into the side and then just solder the wire on at a right angle to it,thats all I done and it works a treat, cheers.

Pinion Selection
Have a 12R5 almost completed. It has the Vector 8.5 turn motor and will be running 1S with the Novak Havoc. I currently have 19 and 20 tooth pinions. Should I consider more teeth? What are your thoughts? I will not be competing with this configuration, just practicing in a wide open, carpeted ballroom.
