What exactly are "Cut" hubs... I've seen this mentioned elsewhere in this forum, and am not quite sure what is meant by this. I've been racing RC for a long time, but this is my first venture into touring cars, and Schumacher...I'm VERY impressed with what I've seen of my car so far, but still have been unable to get to the track...I'm going to try the low/medium Traction Asphalt Adrian posted a couple of months ago for the Mission on my Axis2.
I figure one I get a few months on racing under my belt with the A2, I'll pick up a Mission...
Would you all say IN GENERAL, that the Mission Setups work with the Axis2??
Thanks!
Ron

Car had lots of steering and plenty of rear traction. With this setup I had to run cut hubs on my A2 but the Mission dosen't seem to need them.

AZ-RON I would try that setup with 50 wt. oil. Blue springs and no sway bars. The A2 is different but the stock Axis setup and the one above are close.

AZ: Cut hubs are when the bottom 2-3mm of the hub is removed. Usually you have to shorten the ball stud that threads into the hub so it won't hit the driveshaft. Cut hubs give more bite on the end that they are installed (usually the rear, especially on the A2). Hope that helps...

Cut hubs
Thanks guys for the replies...I'm going out to start tinkering with this car in a few minutes...I've had it for a few weeks, and aside from installing the electrics, I haven't had the time to really dig into it. It has the front one-way and the one way layshaft, and I was told by several people at the place where I'm planning on racing that one-ways WILL NOT work there, so I'm going to go ahead and put the diff back in, and my buddy has a stock layshaft I can slap in it...maybe after I get the car dialed, and get my driving to where at least I can stay somewhat close to the leaders, I'll try the one way, but it is a pretty low bite track. On the lighter side, I was also told they're opening a large indoor carpet track in Tuscon, which would only be a little over an hour drive for me!! Supposed to open in April...

Axis ESC
Hello all;
I posted this message in the general area by mistake, it was intended for this tread. I am new to on road cars and recently purchase a used Axis. The car looks very nice and I am exited about starting to use the car. I been reading your postings and I am glad that I found this site, because there is not a lot of information about Schumachers in my area or the net. If you don't have a Losi or AE is hard to find info. In my area there is not a permanent track to race, my LHS sets up once a month and pretty much everybody is HPI or AE. I was wondering what ESC guys can recomend for a begginer that is not looking for much competition, just racing at the local LHS or in Orlando FL about 60 miles awya from me.
I would appreciate any information you guys can share.

I personally run Novak exclusively....I have never had one fail on me. I started with an Explorer2 in my first car, then an Atom, then a Cyclone 2, then a Cyclone TC2, Cyclone updated, now im running a Cyclone TC...Out of all these, they all have worked flawlessly and I have never had a complaint. I personally dont reommend LRP as you have to send them in to get wires redone(unless you are a good solderer) and the blue tape(anti-glitch tape as ive heard it called?) comes off and makes them look ugly...If you can find them, I had a Tekin G-10 Pro and I never had any complaints about it either...I do suggest you go ahead and get a higher end ESC because more than likely you will want to upgrade later. Hope this helps

2-Hole Pistons...
When you guys are talking 2-hole pistons...there are two kinds from Schuie...one has just the two holes, and the other are the Vari-Shock pistons...is there any difference between the two FUNCTIONALLY?
Adrians setup list the 2-hole Stock pistons...don't know if that means the Vari-pistons or not...I don't have 4 one-piece 2-hole pistons, or I'd run those...am I OK running the Vari-pistons in 2-hole configuration until I get the one-piece 2-holes???
Thanks!
Ron

AZ_Ron: Yes there is a difference between the soild pistons and the vari pistons. The soild pistons have larger holes then the kit pistons. When the guys say the stock pistons they are taking about the vari pistons that come with the kit.

Generally i think most people (certainly here in the UK) run the kit vari pistons.

Hey guys something that me and acouple other local Schuey drivers have tried is running Losi shock shafts and Associated pistons. The stock Schumacher pistons seem to have a little bit too much blow by thats why a lot of people run such thick shock oil in the shocks.
With the Vari pistons the holes get bigger as the number of holes increase but with the Solid pistons they apear to be the same size hole no matter how many holes.

Conversion???
Hi All...this is aimed mostly at Adrian, but a couple of you other guys may know...since the suspension on the Mission is the same as the Axis2, is there a possibility we'll see an upgrade conversion kit come out that will have the new chassis, diffs, and whatever else is needed to convert an Axis2 to a Mission??
Just curious...
Thanks!!

AZ_Ron.....I think there is too much that has changed for them to offer a conversion kit. The shocks, bearings, hubs, drivshafts and lower arms are the only parts that are really left over from the Axis line of cars. Every other part is new and you might as well get a whole kit.

What are people using for 64p gearing? I have a number of 64p spurs and pinions and am hoping to use those (have to buy the adpater still.....Les? where are you?)
I am doing stock racing, on a smaller carpet track. Any suggestions for a good all around spur and some pinions to use?
