Was the cog mainly when starting from a stopped position? Mine seemed to stutter sometimes at the start. It's not a huge deal but noticeable.

tim, i think he's talking about the drag off power (almost like brushed motors used to be). i ran the x12 (17.5) and if geared > ~6.5 it really had some off power drag (which can be good/bad depending on your preferences). the motor ran awesome all weekend, but seemed to get to 215* even when geared down. with that said, i too duplicated mike's 5.7 fdr and the car was a missile. i really like these motors so far...

Gotcha. Yeah I really love the feel of the x-12 motors.

cog, was off power, not a studder, just because the LRP magnets are so strong, it's like dragbrake, so it was perfect for light lifts to set the car into turns. Like lifting in the straight to setup to enter the sweeper, and then lifting again to finish the sweeper and 180 into the infield. Just a super stout motor. And no gtliches with the LRP motor and ESC also, what a great combo!

Hey,
We seem to have the same problem as you. Do you find that sometimes it cuts out and wont even go? However when we get the SXX to go its fast
Does anyone know how to stop this? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks alot Ben

It has always started for me but sometimes there is a slight hesitation. Almost like it starts to go forward, then spins backwards for a moment then forward again. Kind of reminds me of what the tekin sensorless speed control use to do but this is not as bad. Once it gets going then all is good. It works normally most of the time, this happens just occasionally. This is with the MKII firmware.

Hi

I run profiles 3-6-3 or 4-0 & 86/26 gearing on my Cyclone TC & the LRP internal temp check is 1 flash for Sxx Stockspec ESC & 5 for X12 motor , this is without a fan .

Thanks

Anybody like to share ballpark settings for DUO-based 17.5 and 13.5 motors? How about SP 3.0?

8 fdr is too high for spx I would imagine, thats in the region of tekin 203.

I would go 1 fdr higher to start with the sxx ss, but why dont you do all the testing and get back to us

Default Small issue

I installed my new SXX SS in my RT5 & SC and I'm having a small issue. Both of them are cogging/hesitating once or twice during a 6 minute run. It's like the brakes are being applied for a split second on power or off power. I called AE and they said I could send them back if I feel it is necessary. I love these things so far so I'm not wanting to send them back at this point. What I'm wondering is could my motors be the cause of the cog/hesitation?

SC - 24/78, 3*4*4*3, Orion V3 17.5 w/ two marks of timing
RT5 - 24/76, 3*3*4*3, Orion V3 17.5 w/ neutral timing

Small clay indoor offroad track. I've tried different timing marks on the motors and new sensor wires. I think I'm very conservative the "feel" and "boost" so I'm not sure if that could be the issue. Do you guys think I should send them back or try different motors to see if I can find one that works? I have a big race on the 20th so I would hate to not get them back in time.

Thanks for any help.

same problem here!! throughout a 5 min run the motor suddenly breaks for a split second twice or three times. also some times when i try to accelerate out of corners it takes a split second before the esc applies the command to the motor. very strange.

we tried different motors (x11 and speedpassion 13.5T v3) with more or less conservative settings 3-4-8-0 (speedpassion) and 3-4-6-0 (x11). gearing was in the 5.5 range and motors both came off after 5 min with approx. 60 degC. other equipment was:

sanwa m11 x
SXX SS
Speedpassion 13.5T v3
LRP x11 13.5T SS
LRP 5300 40C lipo competition line

i have tried to reach lrp about this problem, but no real answer to the problem yet. i hope reto can shine some light on these troubles since i am clearly not the only one having this issues.

at last weekend's ETS race in warsaw there were many people experiencing the same stuff.

my SXX SS i think was from the first batch. however, i already sent it back to LRP before the first usage to get the mentioned MKII software installed from LRP. so in short, problems occured even with the new MKII software installed.
