RC9394 Floating servo mount

http://www.hksrc.com/store/index.php...oduct_id=10712

I found it under the T3 option parts even though it says T4, was wondering if it could for the T3 too.

For 17.5 racing I like the 96 spur. I am normally at just 4.0-3.8 ratios. So that is 45-48 range.

got a chance to run our Xray T3 2012s in VTA yesterday. Was a blast, ran basically the USGT setup that was posted with a few changes, basically keeping the vehicle the same as it came from the previous owners.

One difference between my daughters vehicle and mine I was wondering about was the whole rear gear diff. Her vehicle had the xray branded diff, mine had a larger diff that I didn't recognize but it looks like this:

Is there an advantage to this kind of diff over the xray diff (I have that in the parts box)?

Lastly, who makes a servo saver that is similar to the xray one that is known to work well? (Kimbrough, etc).

I am looking at this one based on some recommendations:

You don't like the Xray servo saver? Here I was told to go with it because its the best - the material is much stiffer than kimbourough.

I run spool or very tight ball diff in the front and gear diff with only 2000 oil in the back (pretty loose) seems to work good on ozite medium grip.

96 spur with a 40t pinion at the moment - we run by motor temp here - I shoot for about 130*f at the end of 5min heat

Cool thanks for the info.

Talking to one of the hot shoes yesterday, he wasn't fond of the Xray Servo saver and he is so into it his info is something I trust which is why I want to see what else works.

on my vehicle, I actually don't run any servo saver. My vehicles came with no servo savers. I put the xray one of my daughters vehicle though after breaking a plastic one (wasn't strong at all).

Front I got the spools for both vehicles, and gear diff on the rear, 2K oil on both just a different type of diff.

For the VTA class was using Speed Passion V3.0 25.5 motors. after trying to get torque and more top end, I ended up going with a higher timing board (20 degree green) and then higher FDR, 46T pinion, 98T spur.

It worked really well, got the low end I needed and great top end.

The Spec-R gear diffs are not as good as the Xray OEM parts. THe Spec-R's tend to leak far more easily, where as I got 9 months out of my Xray gear diff without having to refill it.

The Xray servo saver is about as good as it gets.
I know of divers from other teams using them as well

Skiddins: Thanks for the info!

First run I noticed that diff had leaded all over the place so I rebuilt it and used AE black grease to seal it up like I do with my 1/8 scale diffs and it didn't leak after that. I'll look into switching though to the Xray diff instead.

Outside of the Xray servo saver, is there any other that you would recommend? Debating between the $20 Xray one versus a $6 kimbrough. Part of that too is that if the kimbrough flexes a bit more, maybe that wouldn't be a bad thing to put on my daughters car since she is prone to hit stuff .. hard lol.

Finally got my setups working pretty good yesterday.. I am much better with my VTA setup than my TC..

But I ended up winning my TC main and made the B main in VTA (didnt finish so well but that was not the cars fault)

I need to run the cars enough to know what is a good setup and feel, so that if it goes out, I can tell.. but having fun with T3-11s

Let those that want the latest and greatest buy - Im happy having this car.

Default Xray gear diffs

Hi guys
Whats the all up weight of the XRAY gear diff , incl oil. I know the Spec-R are a bit heavy . ie is the Xray gear diff much heavier than the ball diff ??

I run Silvercan, so want to keep rotating mass as low as possible .Or am I just overthinking it & diff weight wont be noticable racing on a silvercan motor ?

Default Gearing setups?

What FDR are people running for VTA and for 17.5 spec?

Running a non-perm carpet track, about 40 x 30 or maybe 50 x 40 .. have to ask someone..

Anyone run a aftermarket ecs shafts? The xrays are $50 ea..

If your reading this and your still running your T3 - I have 11 and sort of a 12 updated some bits.. I enjoy the cars, and as long as parts are available I will continue to run them.

Anyway.. just trying to keep the thread alive, because I want to continue to discuss this car.

One thing I find interesting.. dont see people change springs on cars anymore.. 20 years ago.. 10 years ago.. people changed springs all the time. Now it seems to be more ride height and droop, maybe oils in the shocks..

I guess one factor is.. fewer tracks.. so if your usually running only one type of surface and type of track.. not much need to make dramatic changes like springs.
