How do you go about balancing the T3? I I had to add a lot of weight just to get it balanced right to left and I have no clue how to balance it front to back. I had to add the weight to the top deck because I'm trying to find a way to add weight to the chassis. Can you post a pic of yours?

How many g do you have to add ?
It mostly depends on your electronics/motor installation but you should not put more than 30g to reach 1400g (depending on the class you race in).
I usually add this extra weight on the inner side wall of the battery.
Don't put anything on the top deck, you don't want to rise up the global CG.
About front/rear balance, it's up to your preferences. The car may be easier to drive if the weight in more forward (a bit push) and a bit (slightly) oversteer in more backward.

looking into getting the ecs shafts. Are the spec r shafts comparable? They are half the price and im planning on ordering the gear diff this week. Just dont want to spend the 50.00 bucks and then end up getting the ecs shafts later on.

I know someone who uses them and have seen them pulled apart into their separate pieces and believe they are very good quality parts.

the weakest part of the Atomic/Spec-R drive shafts are the pins. if you replace them with XRay ECS pins or make your own using stock from a hobby store you should be good to go. The XRay items are pricey, but if you maintain them they will last for over a year--- at least that is as long as i've had them.

Here, on rubber/asphalt use, people use original Xray ECS if they run mod or wind up to 10.5t. Some of them experienced failures of the SpecR ones with this huge amount of torque.
Motor wind higher than 11.5t should not meet any trouble.

gonzo,

My T3 is currently stripped and being rebuilt for the IIC carpet at the new minimum weight of 1400 grams. That's 20 grams less than what I was doing for ROAR rules; so, some weight distribution changes are pending.

The 007 has different pulley offsets and I would expect that the belt won't line up with the pulley.

If your running on medium to high traction I would recommend the smokem chassis as it really makes the car come alive and has s lot more corner speed and ability to change direction quicker. I have found on low grip surfaces there is no difference between the standard chassis so would not be worth the upgrade if that's what you race on

In alot of cases the user has a big part in whether something will work or not. I use the spec r driveshafts, one year old with the 52mm xray ecs shafts which were already second.

I had them come apart once when I tried to use only heatshrink to hold the pins in. The trick to making them bullet proof is assemble them with loctite when they are new and never disassemble them. The clean them use brake/motor cleaner and apply grease with a fine tip paint brush.

And that is with a 4.5 brushless

Finally, managed to get round to some more practice last night, what a session, came to a perfect drivin setup for my likin.

http://forum.teamxray.com/xform/inde...=1715&setup=t3

Plenty of steering onpower and offpower and the rear end is really planted.

What you guys recommended on the QRC being one is spot on, the extra front width in the front helped alot.
