Default xray T2007 spur gear blocking screw holes for motor

I am wondering what everyone has done about this issue that I am having

are you running a bigger spur and a smaller pinion??? or vice versa
right now I have a 96tooth 64 pitch spur and a 33 tooth pinion and I can get at the screw hole, but I don't have anymore adjustment between the pinion and the spur, basically it isn't meshing properly

any help would be appreciated
Mike

You need to run Xray gears or the RW "Xray" gears that have holes in them to put your hex driver thru to get to the screw.

I had this issue aswell with mine. What i did was used my reamer and made one of the holes in the spur gear bigger. Then it was no problem getting at the motor screw.

Hope this helps ya out

I've had this as well, the RW gears work well as they have the holes to get to the screw, the XRay's do too but they don't go small enough for me. If I don't have a RW spur then I usually take the upper decks off, set the mesh, tighten the front screw, then lift the spur assembly to access the rear screw then put everything back together. Pain in the butt I know, but that is the only way I have been able to do it without drilling a hole in the spur.

That's the way I do it too. I got rid of the Xray spurs for I see no reason to buy theirs when I have all the spurs I need already and I don't want to drill any of them.

What FDR are you aiming for panther, by the way?

You will need some huge pinions to achieve that ratio with 64 pitch as the adjustment range of the motor is very limited. The car was not really designed for brushless and especially for high wind motors. I had to modify the internal ratio of the car to get back to some human size pinions.

sorry, I posted the Primary gear ratio

I am not sure of a FDR yet, what would be good for my application?

I am running a T2 007, LRP TC sphere, smc 3200 and 5000 2S lipos, novak 13.5

track will not have that much grip, and the track will be quite curvy
