hi guys thanks for your responses and soldering tips, we have had to learn good soldering techniques pretty fast and for the most part it doesnt happen much anymore but it still occasionally can happen.
M7H i am pretty sure i have spoke to you about this on another thread but i'll share it again anyway, you see one of my competitors also has a Motonica 1/8 electric pan car, i witnessed him putting a brand new rx8 gen 2 in his motonica and frying it within 3 minutes, a few weeks later he put another brand new under warranty rx8 gen2 in and it fryed in under 2 minutes, in hindsight we think the problem is 4s 2700kv and only single speed , the current draw must have been extraordinary!, his hobbywing xerun 150a runs 6s 2050 kv no issues at all in the same car geared the same., anyway when he got his 2nd warranty rx8 gen 2 esc he wasnt prepared to through it in his 1/8 again so it went into his 1/10 lola tc car instead,... it proved to be a masterstroke , you wouldnt believe it but it somehow runs cooler and harder all the other esc's already tried.
cheers

Probably in the 8th scale electric car thread.....

Funny his experience is contra to my experience!
I fried a Xerun 150a (due to the motors sensor board which gone bad), but never got the Xerun 150 to run problem free with 6S lipo, under 4S it worked perfect.

The Tekin on the other hand works perfect under 6S with 1900KV and 2050KV motor!..... according to the internal logging of the ESC, it reaches 55 Celcius maximum, and the motor 80 Celcius, and 41800 rpm.....

But I know pretty sure, that if he would have added a $2.50,- 1500uF external capacitor, he would have not fried it.....

Thumbs up

thanks M7H for reply, it is interesting how these two esc's have seen two alternating responses, your probably right though about the capacitor but i don't think well ever know because there is no chance he will pull the rx8 out of his 1/10th lola tc because ever since he tried it he has been the fastest, I may have won our class the other day but he was just pulling away from me in the final, about 1/2 a second a lap out of 20-21 second laps, I was just lucky his battery dumped 3 and a bit minutes in and I was more consistent then the other rx8 runners ( the first win is always sweet ! ), its funny how an esc can make the difference though ,even one of the other competitors improved his time by 2/3 rds of a second using the Tekin.
cheers

Looking into getting a pro10 car for fun. Without going all out and building one from scratch. The only options that I recently have read about we're the Serpent S100 with the pro kit and CRC with there expansion kit. Any other options? With going CRC what about those wheel adapters? Any good or do they bend? Serpent elongated rear axle looks good but how good is it?

You could also get a Xray X10 link car and buy a conversionkit from LAJF and a IRS 235 axle.
Works like a charm
The CRC rear hubs tend to get play if they grow older and thus wobble
RC Devil, VIP racing, Speedmerchand and some other build also 235MM cars
The Serpent i can't advice you.
Seen some one run the car for more then a season and didn't have any trouble with it, but that was before the 235 kit was on the market.

Regards Roy

How about a nice old RC10L? They show up regularly on the evil auction site; one just sold for about $100 shipped, in new condition.

Last weekend was the second race of the 2014 RC Lemans series. The race had 29 pro10 modified drivers. It was fun

Nice pictures, I really wish there was a outdoor facility of that caliber even within 100 miles of where I live.

Default lush grass

+ 1 i am jealous too, that grass infield just makes it a thing of beauty, still beggars cant be choosers and i should just be thankful my local track is one of the biggest tracks in Sydney and i live less then ten minutes drive away.
cheers

@Pro10freak, That is one BADA** collection! How much for the first RC10L2 pictured? lol jk, they are quite hard to find nowadays tho... All I have is my Bolink Eliminator and my wifes RC10LSS but I'd love to find a L2.
