@ Tobias,

Oh okay, I thought that all the kits were now with the 2015 pod. But it's optional, cool... That solves the problem.

@Airwave,

I think you would do good to get the normal width aluminum lower podplate & matching upper podplate.
You will have less problems with the IRS axle to get the car on 235mm.

Yeah absolutely that's optional and that's totally my fault. I asked Tobias to send me an up-to-date chassis without asking what were the updates.

So Tobias, are you selling the older Pod items alone? That's the lower deck in aluminum and the upper deck in carbone, right?

They are a smaller version of a TC shock
I normally use a 12R5 damper for the side dampening on my pancars but i bought the CRC shocks with the car.
The VBC shock is like the 12R5 shock from Associated with no rebound but with more alloy parts and seals so it should be better in theory

Hi Roy,

question (again) regarding shocks: for side socks, is it better to have a shock built with zero rebound (like the Asso or the VBC TBX shocks) or the CRC Encore shock is really a must-have?

About your car, can you tell me the part number of your central shock (Tamiya TRF one I assume, but where did you find it in black version?) and your side shocks (CRC Encore shocks, aren't they? How did you get them with no anodizing color?)

Thank you very much for your help,
Regards,
G-rem

TRF shock is the normall one used on the Tamiya TRF 416 and 417.
Black parts come from Exotek and on the Vorlon i never tried the Associated 12R5 shock yet.
I can get the CRC encore shock without rebound.
You can get the alloy color free with caustic soda.
Be carefull tho as it goes quickly.
Also heard that oven cleaner works.

Thank you very much Roy!

I'm still hesitating between CRC Encore shock or VBC TBX as I can get 2 Encore for the price of one TBX...I'll see

You can also try the Silva HPS2, also a very good side shock... And available in different colors...

Centre shock: Tamiya 42102.
Black parts for centreshock: Exotek 1185, then choose the black one
Encore without rebound, Fill up to max, move piston to half way and then place blatter.
Slowly mount top cap and you got a smooth no rebound Encore shock
Yes the price of the VBC shock is high
Encore shoud do fine, ask Tobias
He is running them for the last couple of years and won the Le-mans series and the German Po10 championship with them.

modified: pretty much everything can be used
Was the stock 10.5t class boosted?

Roy,

What turn motor would be good for a non-boosted class?

Depends on rules and track type
If it is a big track, then 10.5 would be a great choice(2S)
If it is a smaller size track then a 13.5 or even a 17.5 on 2S could do.
It also depends on what brand motor you run
If it is budget racing, then the 17.5 could be fun with spec tires.
At the German Le-mans series they run 10.5 blinky on 2S and is called the LMP2 class.
They also run the LMP1 class and that is 2S with what ever 540 type motor(brushless 2 pole) motor you want.
Most guys run 4.5 and that is with boost and turbo.
