In the summer, yes, but in the winter, outdoors, you can struggle to find grip.

I just like the consistancy of the grip levels indoors. Yes, its rather artificial racing on carpet but where's the fun in racing if you have no grip?

Find the boards too many times and crash out?

Power is nothing without control!

When its sunny and all loverly, outdoor racing is where its at, no doubt, i'd pick that anyday, but as we know UK weather is rubish, we get about 1 week of decent weather added together over the whole year, i dont justify doing the outdoor racing stuff myself now. You definitly need a wet car for the Nationals, otherwise if it rains your buggered,as you get the other guys with wet cars scoring cheep points over you (round by round qualifying) and bumping the faster guys in dry without wet cars down the order. I prefer indoors system of FTD because they can do that, as they know its gonna be dry all round , always thought qualifying should be fastest time over a 5 minute run really. Just my opinon of how the weather seems to effect the way racing works over here in the so called summer.

Indoor racing is alot cheaper, i can run 1 set of sorex tyres for around 3 meetings and still be pushing for the top spots of the ftd list........outdoors at the bigger meetings 3 sets + a practise set is needed to compete......the cost of Tc is outrageous enough these days to stay in the game, and outdoors just bring the costs up.......i just dont justify the cost of doing it anymore...... think it rained at 3 out of 4 of the nationals done already this year (one to go) i only made 1 due to losing interest/funds and that turned into a hurricane where we had to slash our a gazeebo's to keep them down, we are now known as Team Slash.. lol

I like both indoor and outdoor racing with rubber tires on asphalt. As long as I'm running on asphalt and not the rug stuff I'm happy. Outdoors anytime it isn't racing and death hot. Indoors asphalt for the winter and those days thats calling for rain during the summer.
