There's hardly a gulf of performance difference, even going by your graph. I've known that sort of performance difference between like motors straight out of the box.

Unlike most motors however, the V2's that I own have actually got quicker with use - not slower.

I agree though that driving skill is still more than important than 'trend' when it comes to winning the world championships.

I also know for touring car racers on carpet, over the winter, you could do alot worse than the Orion/Peak motors in the 19t superstock class. The motor's consistently good track performance is what I (and many others) use as the best guage of a motor's actual competitiveness. Alot can be said for rock solid consistencey too - something the V2 motor really excells at - all factors that make up a motor's true 'performance'. Straight out of the box....

I'd rather have consistency than a motor I constantly have to rebuild.... I've been using 769's on my C2 and it's eating the comm up really quick.... red/green springs.... The motor was doing 39k RPM and 172 watts on my CS.....

When are the Orion's going to hit the states????

You're kidding me....you still haven't got them yet?!!

Well be sure to get one when they arrive, but be quick!! I suspect demand will be high. Then prepare for fuss free motoring.

Honestly, the V2 motors are very good.

you could almost gear it as high as you want. That is the way this motor likes to be geared.

if you have a big track I would gear it about 3 teeth higher than you would a stock motor.

Default Reedy 19 turn gearing

I've been using the Reedy quad since the Reedy race here in Aliso Viejo and the track here is a good size, long straight going into a large sweeper, you can carry a lot of speed in this part of the track and the infield has more technical layout.
Anyway, final gear ratio varied some but most of the "A" main drivers were gearing in the "5's, which is the final ratio. I would start at 6.1 and work your way down depending on the motor temp and peak rpms, again depending on the size of your track!
Good luck!

C2 should be the same as a stocker. I dont go under .270 because I am worried about the comm lifting and breaking my bit. I was told .300 on the Reedy but I am not sure on that one.

Heard that Reedy is coming out with a new 19t that is a dual mag instead of quads (not the old one before the quad mag motor). Is this true and if so, when?
