I didn't have good luck with putnams in ANY reedy motor. I've always liked the 767 or 766. With the 767 drill a #42 cavity in it about 3/32 deep. That will improve all perfromance aspects of the motor.

I have been looking at 19 turns for a while. We raced the C2 last year and they were so hit and miss and people complained so this year it's any 19 turn. You said you are looking for a 19t with the v2 endbell try here http://www.brahmaracingproducts.com/ when they reopen. I am definelty going to give Team Br00d a try. Eddie seems like a great guy that knows what he's doing. I'm going to get a power trix armature 19t.

Ya i was looking at that Team Br00d products, there website isnt done i believe so i cant see any of the products he has. Are there any pics of his motors/batteries? And how much is he selling the 19t motors for? And what kind are they? Thanks

I also have no idea how to gear this motor! We will be coming up with a team race (mod,19t and stock)
5.7-6.2??? Final drive ratio? seriously??? It's like gearinga 23t stocker!

can my Quantum Comp or pro sport handle the heat with the gearing that low?

yep seriously.... :-)
It doesnt get as hot as you might think..
just keep the comm true and check the brushes often.
I run mine with a novak fusion esc and no probs...

quite a few people disagree on what brushes to use, but I had better luck with 4499's than 767's...
mine was eating 767's like they were candy...lol

I would agree with onnetz on the gearing and the preferred brush 'contraversy'...

These REEDY's can take the abuse...

I've personally been as low as 5.4 (Tamiya USA HQ track)

just depends on track layout... very tight twisty tracks, start around 6.7

as far as brush, i prefer the 767.. they seem to put out just a tad bit less RPM than the 4499 (imo) but i find them to wera less and are easier on the comm... i counter the RPM difference with an extra tooth on the pinion..

on the other i have a good buddy who prefers the 4499 and he makes them work very well also...
I'm starting to think that it comes down to driving style...

just got my c2 today and it rocks....
I've noticed that there are a couple different armatures to get..
anyone compare all of them with each other?
I've heard the hemi wind is the fastest.
how is the cross wrap?

The older style C2's were the hemi wraps. The new C2's are mubachi wrap(cross wrap). Both are fast. You can't switch arms from what you have on your motor unless you zap your magnets to be opposite. If you switch arms(cross wrap to hemi) without zapping your magnets opposite, your motor will run in reverse.

I like the reedy quad but this c2 seems just a bit quicker.
Using puple and red springs with 4499 brushes geared at 6.0 and not showing much wear on the comm.. I like it....

I didnt get the pro version and I now see that they zapp the magnets on the pro and not the regular version. How much of a difference should that make??

I think my next motor will be the c2 from eamotorsports..

Well I just learned somthing about the c2 by accident.
I was inspecting the comm and brushes and when I put the endbell back on I had it turned 180* and it fit fine even with the locked 24* timing..
I'm guessing this is to accomodate the different armatures..

Wow, I just tried a Fantom 19t this weekaend and it was great. I usually run the Reedy, but I just received 3 Fantoms and used the one with the lowest numbers for practise and it was fast. Anyone else have luck with them?
