as far as crystals go, do you have to use KO brand crystals specifily? or can you get a crystal set from annother company? such as : http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...I=LX0804**&P=7

A little off track, but still a KO question:
How would you go about finding out which KO servo I have with a missing label?
It's metal geared and a few years old.
Thanks, Fred

Does it have a FET wire? Does it have bearings? Does it have gold plated rx connector? Also if you can get the exact weight and dimensions of the servo you can narrow it down using KO's list of their servos:

I have tried my Helio with 27mhz Futaba crystal without glitch, but only two times, may be a lot of racer play in the same time will get glitch.

I tried Airtronics, Futaba, JR, and hitec crystals in my ex-10 and none of them produced a signal. The airtronics at least glitched alot... guess KO is the only way to go...

EDIT: If I remember correctly, a company called Central made 40mhz crystals that were compatible with KO and Futaba. You might want to try it out.

You can remove the black screws and sand them with some really fine sandpaper and then apply some white primer and then some glossy purple paint.
The wheel I think dynomite makes a purple aluminum wheel. I have the blue one from them and you could do the same thing as the screws and prime and paint the wheel.
Its just a matter of time and effort.
You could try to pry the hara version of the helios out of someone hands but that would be very hard to do.
The Hara version has purple buttons too....pretty trick.

Thanks for the info.

Unfortunately the have only a red steering wheel.
It is unbelieveable that no one makes purple screw for the helios.
What is the size of the screw???
