I notice you're using the plastic battery retainers. What 2s lipo fits in there (and under the body without the wires poking the body out a little)?

Ah ok. That's what I have

http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/rc-bat...g-p-32503.html

I'm guessing then that the green-label one is shorter than the blue-label one? This one would just fit - if the wire came out the top... oh well back to mini packs for now...

Raced my Formula Ten for the first time Friday.
Outdoor well prepped parking lot.
Used car, came with a ball diff and stock shock.
I swapped it from my parts car Cyclone S, HPI silver spring with whatever oil was in it.
Started with M compounds rear and softs front.
No stability on the straights and no steering.
Talked to a couple of local fast guys and changed the dampener plate grease.
To Kyosho 15000 diff grease, suddenly the car was dead stable. Just a few dabs on both sides and the then twisted the plates.
I was shocked what a change that made.
Went back to soft fronts and now I have too much steering.
Not sure where I'm going to go next, next race is in 2 weeks.
Thinking I'll buy a mini hard case lipo. Trying to decide if I'm gonna go back to soft fronts and take away steering or the kit fronts and try and add steering back in.

Silver center spring is pretty firm for this car. Go with something 12lbs or less. Lighter battery may make it worse.
Most F10's are so hooked up with soft/soft tires that this car will push. When you get to this point then you know your set up is getting there so that you can run the light battery.

OOOPs it was M compounds front and rear but plenty of rear traction.
Thanks for the tip on the spring.
I'd love to throw the Exotex chasis on this but for not I'm trying to run it as cheap as possible as a challenge. After eBay bucks I'm only $80 into this car.

got my F10 and built it...already have the Exotek chassis coming, I guess if my batteries were rounded on the side it would of been alright, but like graphite more then plastic. Upgraded to bearings and motor pods are on the way.. can't wait to start running it.

Great cars but unfortunately I never have the time to take mine to the track. If anyone wants to go race with Donn, my upgraded one is for sale

The HPI guys should be there, be sure to check with them. If not you can borrow one from my spare car.
