Tony Phalen,
You say running a one-way can result in faster lap times... When can running the car with out a one-way be faster ??? I been told running with out a one-way is faster on small layouts & when there is little traction... I guess what I`m asking is , what conditions work best for each ? Are you saying running a one-way is always faster no matter what size layout your racing on ? |
Wonderboy you welcome.
Yes, It is the parts. Also the long posts can use for the front posts on your TC 3. |
TRF Powered. Ya, that was me. I usually run the truck with 16-18 cells and 9 turn motors but for the demo I only ran 14 with 11 turn. I have to keep the truck prestine for another week or two before I can bring it out for some REAL power...
Wild Cherry. I was basically telling him that a oneway at SoCal is a must. A oneway ANYWHERE is good to try. A few examples of where you DON'T want to run a oneway might be carpet. Carpet is way to aggressive and the bite steering of a oneway might be too much. Yes, tight hairpin tracks you might want a diff, but I would probably try a oneway and try to tune the car to it. I just like the way a oneway works. If you don't have one, I would suggest getting one and just trying it one different tracks. You might be surprised at the results... |
Diff building
Any tips on building the diff besides following whart is printed in the destructions? I just got the lite diffs from the steel. Does the car actually need to be run on the ground or can I simulate running by grabbing a wheel while free wheeling the car I dont want the hassel of adjusting the diff while racing and dont want to run on the street as it usually wet this time of year.
TP when I start to go to the snetterton track which is big fast and sweeping I may give the one-way a go. How exactly does it alter your handling? |
Lots o' steering and Lot's o' speed. Big sweeping tracks will definitely see an advantage of the oneway.

Right, my AM radio currently has some glitch problem so I retreat from being too aggresive. I hope my new FM radio would solve that out. I directly soldered the motor and wires are short enough. I use deans for the side by side packs I converted from cheap sport packs. Cutting the comm - man there are some guys that cut their comms after every race, just a pass over but still too much for me. After every race day is a bit too much as well but if it works then I say go for it. I would cut my comm about every 12-16 packs but ony if it needs it, I also run my comm stick in it about every 4 packs. The brushes I wont change unless they are worn, clean them with a Orian comm stick, or any other good comm stick then spray it clean. The glitching that you experienced can be from anything. have you tried a shocky diode on the motor? That Tc2 is pretty cool. I have the Cyclone TC and I love it. Good luck |

one ways?
since were on the topic of oneways how good is the middle oneway tc3 im running on a hightraction oval thats running about 6 second laps???? ne opinions?

You don't want to run a oneway on carpet with foams. They work well in most situations with rubber.
|
Actually, I prefer a one-way on carpet with foams.... I use diff outdoors with rubber...
ChristopherKee |
I agree with robk...a oneway on carpet with foams is WAY overkill!!!!
Unless, you can tone it down... I'm interested in the rest of your setup, though, Christopher...can you post it? |

Not completely finished yet.. |
Use 80w up front with AE White (40) spring stood strait up. 40w in the back with AE Purple (30) in the rear second whole in. run 0 degree kickup and squat with 4 degree caster blocks. 2 degree toe in rear with with 0 degree up front. 4 droop front 6 rear. 4.5mm all the way around. Purple's and Plaids, full compound on rear.
If you want insane reaction on the switch backs use AE Yellow (35) up front 2nd hole in with 2 degree kick and AE Copper (25) in the rear. Just adjust your Dual Rate till you get this setup down. If it's a large flowing track, I recommend the first setup. If it's technical... the second setup will eat every car on your track. And... If you cant drive, use AE Purple (30) all the way around with shocks stood strait up. You'll learn to drive faster with this neutral setup. ChristopherKee... These setups also work well on my XXX-S (before I sold it) |
