Default Ratio

Need to gear the motor so that you hear it peak just before the end of the longest straightaway. Asking people what their ratio is won't really help, unless they run the same track. My son & I both run a 100/27 with our Monsters, very different from the above post, because you must tune to the track YOU run on, not what we run on.

Hope this helps!

Baught a tc3 off a buddy last night.
took it apart rebuilt the diffs, changed the ball studs and cups. get rid of must of the slop in it.

put all my electronics in it, and the thing is loud. My gear mesh is fine i think, what else would cause that?

Theres also still some slop in the steering rack, i woulda changed the bushings but i didnt have any that size, i know theres a way to put the ntc3/tc4 steering set up in there anyone have a link showing how?

How bout a link showing how to do the battery mod?

or any other fun mods i can do

thanks

What thing is loud?

Try running 1 diff at a time to pin-point which one is making noise... Check you pinion/spur.. THere are different types of 49 pitch gearing... Some have rounded teeth and other are more square shaped...

its just all around loud, i was gonna run it in the hallway of my apartment but it was 11pm it it woke my gf up.

the spur and pinion are fine i looked those over, no problems there, i believe the noise is coming from the bearings on the input shafts, does that sound right?

For 2 weeks my TC3 was loud as anything and i stripped the car 3 times trackside to find the problem i changed everything on it diffs, bearings, etc and it was coming from the rear by the spur i changed the spur and that stopped it even though the spur was almost new 3 runs no meshing it was still perfect try changing the spur and see what that does.

As for bleeding shocks: a guy at my track drilled and tapped holes in his shock caps for bleeder screws. They work pretty slick.

Did the TC 3 only have 1 "strength" of sway bar?

but how does it work, do i fill the body and cap full of oil and then screw them together, loosen the bleed screw and pump the air out?
