BODIDO: Should I tell your girlfriend?
Sorry guys...... Inside joke there. Back to your regularly scheduled TC3 talk.  Chad, that had to be by far the best heckle i have ever heard from the announcers mic. "ANNND Dave Williams... TQ... sponsored by Walmart, Toys R Us, and his girlfriend..." The fact my "girlfriend" (read: WIFE) was setting my TC3 down for that run, and was gracious enough to play into it, made it all the funnier. Thank GOD she didnt actually toss my car the 50 feet it would have went, if she was so compelled. :ha: Lotta laughs over that one. ;) JOHNBULL: One thing R/C cars and women have in common... LUBE. One thing R/C cars and women do NOT have in common... WIRES. I did however once know this woman that liked being strapped up with duct tape... but its still not wire. Are you still dating her Chad? :weird: :ha: - DaveW |
Ride height & Droop
 I am have a problem setting both. I can set the ride height and as soon as I try to set the droop the ride height changes. Any advice on how to get both set. Also what is a good setting (for both). I went to the book and it says 5mm height & 7mm droop.
|
Set droop first.
What type of track surface? Smooth or bumpy? |

Any advice on how to get both set. Also what is a good setting (for both). I went to the book and it says 5mm height & 7mm droop. The book might say 5mm ride height and 7mm droop but that can only be acheived with tires of a certain diameter (the diameter of the tire will effect both ride height and droop). Keep this in mind, especially if you run foam tires. As the tires wear, both the ride height and droop will change. If your droop setting if effecting your ride height, your tires are probably too large in diameter to run that ride height and droop combination. Instead of measuring droop, try measuring the up travel the arms have. By this I mean take your car, fully loaded with electronics and diameter tires you will be running. Set the ride height, then adjust the droop screws by measuring the uptravel the a-arms have before they hit the droop screws. I usually run 2mm uptravel in the front to 1mm in the rear. In measuring droop this way you will never have droop effect ride height. |
