Originally posted by fatbear Hi I am new to the forum, I hope someone can help me out. I have been racing TC3's ever since they come out in the modified class. I am just in the process of putting a new chassis on one of my cars and have noticed that there is a spot that binds badly when you rotate the diffs in the front and rear housing. It is only when bothe diffsa nd the drive shaft are installed. I have always noticed a small amount of binding in the gearboxes but never this bad. Has anyone got any ideas or maybe solved this problem. I am running Factory team cars with the plastic diffs and the aluminium drive shaft. Also I have noticed that it is even worse with the one way in. Fatbear |

I just got my car last week, what a rush! They are a riot to drive. I'm use to racing offroad and thought that that was the stuff. This is a close second!

I've bought a used TC3 and find that the rear toe in is not equal
from side to side. I've replaced the pins, arms, uprights and the arm mounts but nothing helps. I remember that this was a problem when the car first came out, anybody out there know whats wrong and how to fix it ?? Thanks. |
Rear toe-in blocks (wheel carrier) were wrong.
Tje mold was crooked where the hingeping hole wa/is. I personally also replaced the chasssis toe-in blocks. |
I found my rear hubs getting tweaked a few times. (IM still a rookie) I switched to using plastic rear Losi hubs and havent had a problem since. They are holding up better and arent tweakin.
|
I too had some troubles with the stock ASC rear arm blocks being incorrectly molded, gave one side 2 degrees more then the other. I tried the Tobee Craft Delrin block (R 3+0) and it is dead on perfect side to side and is holding up well. About ten bucks and well worth it in my mind.

my Losi hubs have these problems(front)
i bought a pack of 4deg front spindles and i get the left 0 deg's (plastic) and right 4 deg's(carbon).the bad one even comes with 4deg markings....i know i can throw these back to Losi but it's too far.... |
Is it a coincidence or ?
I just notice that my TC3 front block carriers are exactly identical. Being so the left one is leaning towards backside of the arm, and the right one is leaning towards frontside of the arm. I can see the steering throw is not symetrical between left and right because of this. Thinking it is wrong and need correction, I get myself a new pair of Front Block Carriers p/n 3869 0° Graphite. To my surprise, they are identical as well....is this normal? Else I have to sand them. :( |
GTO2
you don't need to sand them...it's fine and the car works fine with it. that has been discussed tons of times on this and other TC3 threads. that is how they are designed. besides you don't need full 100% steering throw at race speeds. i run a bone stock FT TC3 with no milling, sanding, shimming, ect. and have won and placed consistantly in the A Main at my track. |
