Yep, that's it.

I used it for a while but got faster laptimes with just the front one-way and got very very close to the same laptimes (front only) with the locked front but had more control

Anyway, yep, that's it.

locked...

i've also read/scene a lot of breakage when people are running the locked diffs.

it causes more stress on the whole assembly....cvd's.

AssociatedRacer 02-22-2003 05:16 PM

In AE's manual they said to tighten the diff all the way, then back it out half a turn. No more no less ever. Im going to go with what they say.

You can adjust the handling of the car with the diffs. You don't really want to run them too loose but you and adjust the steering by running them a little on the tight side. And if you're running a locked front diff, you should run the rear a little looser to help witht the low speed steering. Running a tighter front diff will give you more pull off the corner. They tell you that in the manual so you don't run it so loose that you're going to let it slip. In a TC, a slipping diff is a bad thing. :D

New better one-way?

Hey there! Question to you AE owners:

Has anyone got to his AE TC3 Yokomo`s made (sp3938-6) HD one-way? Price 58,50$

I ask first our AE dealer when we`ll get a new AE one-way and they answer at it is not available???

Then i also ask that from our Yokomo dealer, but they don`t get any info about that... yet.

I`m a little confuse because that Yokomo`s one-way for TC3 with bigger bearings is not a new thing??!!

I hard remember... it was almoust year ago when Yokomo published that product first time??

Hey, does a crease in the hood of a body cause a lot of problems?

Scrad 02-23-2003 02:32 PM

probably not. It's not like aerodynamics are a huge part in r/c racing.

Jon Kerr 02-23-2003 04:04 PM

aerodynamics play a huge roll in rc racing. Why do you think there are so many Stratus bodies out there. Not because they're pretty. They give the most balanced performance between handling and drag. You need to remember, only one pound of down force on a car that only weighs four and a half pounds or so is alot. It's like adding seven or eight hundred pounds of downforce on a full size race car. I don't know of any full size race car that can claim that.

I agree ... it only takes a small amount of downforce on such a small car to make a huge difference.

As far as the crease in the hood goes ... it would depend on how much drag it creates.
