Warpspeed

Can you tll me a few things.

1. Are the battery slots adjustable in width-or is it narrowed all the way to the driveshaft.

2. Could you buy this chassis with no holes drilled for the hingepin mounts, but all the rest drilled and machined?

3. Are there slots provided to facilitate taping in of batteries.

Thanks,
Ray
p..s It looks killer!!!!

WARPSPEED

The batteries are closer to the drive shaft.
Chassis comes with the holes for the NTC3 steering.
No, all holes are pre-set.

Thanks for info!!!

the warpspeed chassis looks sweet.
did you just reverse the batteries and motor to be different then everyone else? i wouldnt think there is an advantage to it?

any idea of pricing?

Jarrod Langlois 02-06-2003 10:49 AM

i think he mentioned a while back that the reasoning for the batteries on the right was because all of the U.S. tracks go in a clockwise direction so this would position the heavy side towards the inside for better rotation.

It looks pretty cool. I just hope it isn't as expensive as the IRS chassis!

How much is it going to cost? And where would you go to get one? Any link?

omalley 02-06-2003 11:11 AM

i got a email about the price of this chassis.. it will run like $190 USD.

is there the posibility of just turning the chassie round, so the battery is on the left site. because most of the tracks here are not clockwise..

if you do...there will be no countsunk holes. can't countersink on both side. :(

TC3 02-06-2003 12:36 PM

u r right,didnt think of that..
another question: should i get the trinity or irs lowprof locknuts?
is 3076 the right part number for the trinity ones?
has anyone the new new asso polished hingpins?
i have the yokomo ones and they are very strong and i have a very smooth suspension now, but they are alittle too short, just about 1 or 2mm. i was wondering wether i should try the new asso ones..
or maybe they are both the same, just as the new heavyduty oneway ist the same as the yok one, i heard:rolleyes:

rayhuang 02-06-2003 12:41 PM

Do any of you have ways to make the Tc3 run quieter? I am not kidding. I have been running thse since they came out-literally and I HATE how loud they are. My Yokomo was quiet, my XXXS is quiet and my EVO3-quiet.

ONe thing I do know-when the chassis starts to get older, the motor mount can slowly start to warp from the heat of the motor. My current "old' chassis that I used to prototype my milling on, the motor is not straight or perfectly horizontal to the ground-therefore the gear mesh is a little off now-adding to the horrible sound these cars make. I am betting the Warpspeed chassis with its aluminum motor mount will be quieter. Especially with 64 pitch spurs from RW.

I would love to have a whisper quiet TC3-though I know its way too much to ask.

Northerner 02-06-2003 12:46 PM

i know what you mean ray about the tc3 being so loud, but i switched from an IRS driveshaft to the new FT aluminum shaft and its a whole new car now! sounds so much more quiet! i think because the shaft is smaller and straighter so it doesnt vibrate as much!
