PizzaDude, I run Losi 4deg, or 6deg, depending on what I think works at the time. I didn't have a ride height problem with either. The rubber tire thing makes sense, I'm willing to buy that theory.

Fakk2, I follow the TC3 & NTC3 posts here, on Radio Control Zone, and on the Hobby Talk board. I have seen a few of the things Walter posted on Hobby Talk. I'll go back and scan thru it again to see if I can track it down. Thanks.

I am not a world class driver yet. But think of it. there is no reason for the rear of the car to have brakes. If you look at a 1:1 car, tge majority of the braking is done up front. And if you look at the physics behind it, more brakes on the rear creates out of control or spin conditions.

So with a spool, I would have the slowing down capabilities, and with the oneway in the rear, all wheels would be providing drive. I hate the idea of the diff. i can only assume that when the car is turning, the car loads the outside wheel. With more load on the outer wheel, the diff would tend to not drive that wheel. So exiting a corner, you would not be applying power down on all 4 wheels. With the oneway in the rear and a spool up front, power would be to all 4. I would think this would pull you around the turns faster.

NTC3NUT: I noticed back in the post you showed pictures of the ntc3 steering set-up. What parts are required to do this conversion?

We tried this a few years ago with the Nitro Rs4s and rubber tires and it overloaded the fronts to where it couldn't turn. Couple that with a spool and a free wheeling rear(no slide=no rotation) and it might be push city. You'd have to compensate with a snappy front end setup. Try it!

the push might be a consideration. but i am running on a pretty open track. race on same track as nitros. I have also done the rear tower on front, the batteries moved inboard and up front and the ntc3 steering rack. With these mods and my setip, i let a few guys running tc3 with spools run my car. they were surprise how little push i was getting with the spool going into the corner. So maybe the rear oneway would actually help get more speed through the corners. I would imagine that the line through the corners would be critical.

i would like to try, but how do you get the bearing out of a oneway and thenreverse them.

Ride height with rear shock tower on front
 

To get ride height correct (<5mm), when you are using rear shock tower on front: cut down lower eyelet (7217) by 1...2 mm from threaded end. This modification moves lower spring cup down and the car is dropping just as much.

This modification has no effect to roll center.
