Slim or shim???? Guess it's the same thing.... :D
Running the bubble in the middle of the tweak station DOES NOT necessarily mean your car is tweaked correctly. This just means the car is (weight-wise) is flat. We've found that using the tweak station is a good start, but we NEVER rely on it. Put the car on the track and chances are it's not going to drive with a correct tweak. That is the first step, though. Set the ride height as described by big al. You can then set it on the tweak station and set it, or do the Track Tweak method. Track Tweak is basically setting it on the track and do some hard left and hard right turns. If it's equal, then your chassis and setup is good. If it doesn't, most likely the chassis is twisted. If it hooks harder to one side, you need to adjust the OPPOSITE side to fix the tweak. It takes a little getting used to but it's very effective. |
ooops , thats what happens when you post at midnight ......
SHIMS........ |
heh heh, that's ok...you could of messed on a different word....that's an innocent one!!!!!!
|
Thats why they call me Shim Shady.....:D

teflon or brass knuckles there shim?

Tony Phalen: Can you share the track tweak method? let's say my tc3 pushes turning left, how should i adjust the right suspensions? lower or raise both right front and right rear ride height?
my car looks good on the tweak station, but it never have even steering.... |
inc. RR ride height
|
If you never have even steering you will have to adjust your radio. I set mine at 120% dual rate then set the steering epa to 100 then go up or down from there, then when it looks like they are the same(do a circle, make it even both ways) you can turn the dual rate up or down depending home much sterring you want.

shrekair is right. increase Right Rear.
teamAE has another solution, although your not really fixing the problem, just patching it. Ideally, you want to set up the car so your EPA's are not all jacked.... I have to say that this solution has worked for me in a pinch (at race time). over gear: Ya, that's the problem with the tweak station. The bubble might be dead-nuts in the center, but your car will still act tweaked. That's when track-tweak comes in. Make sure you set it DURING practice. At race time you may not be allowed the time to play and adjust. |
Tony, in this case wouldn't it be better to set up the car with scales instead of the tweak station? Would a car you call track tweak free read ok on the scales? Just wondering if you looked into that at all. Thanks.

i had a horrible day at the track on sunday.
I broke in the first qualifer qualified 2nd after the 2nd qualifier broke in the 3rd qualifier and got ran into the wall in the main and broke again damn , my luck stinks. Tony: will the trinity front bumper for the NTC3 fit on the electric TC3 |
Evening all....may finally get to race this weekend......been almost 2 months since i've raced........AAAARGH
|
Kraig: Ya, that would probably work well. Only problem is that you need to buy FOUR scales. Well, I guess you could do it with two. I found some small scales but at $35 a piece, track tweaking didn't seem all that hard.... :D
Might look into it again..... Type S: Not a direct fit. I guess you could try to modify it but it might take some time. |
Tony,
Had read somewhere that a guy used the Walmart food scales that dieters use...they have enough measurement to work for R/C and are relatively in-expensize ($14.95 each) What the guy have done was to remove the curved basket and put on a piece of flat plastic for the tray to sit the cars on...just something I had read... John |
Ya. But if you know me, you know you have to have something better than the analog scales. I need digital, man!!!! :)
