TC3 Rear Shock tower
 

I have tried the rear tower on the front.
One thing that I did that helped with the shock clearence, was to cut the ball cup on the shock end so that the bottom of the spring holder would rest on the ball end. If you want more clearence, try cutting the threads on the end of the shock shaft itself. Don't be greedy and take to much though. You only need to lose a couple.
I have even moved my body posts up to the shock tower for less flex.
I definitly want to see ASC new front arms though.

TPhalen: Thanks for posting the tip on assembling the rear arms. I built my kit this weekend and followed your instructions. Otherwise I propably would have tweeked the chassis. Going to run indoor TC class on the banked oval tonight. :)

Yeah it's been a while. I haven't been racing much the last months, since touring car racing on asphalt isn't popular in sweden. It's a pity, because it's so much more fun on asphalt than on carpet. But I guess it's because our tracks are quite large and more suited for nitro racing. My home track is 330 m long so it's not very fun to practise either.

We'll be holding our 2nd Annual race on the 18th of August. for more information and updates check out the MSRA thread on this site.

Race held outdoors on Asphalt, OK traction, little bumpy in certain areas. VHT will be laid down.

When using the rear tower on the front..someone said if you raise the tower you also raise roll center....i almost always use the upper link hole in the tower...so, if you raised the tower enough, couldnt you just use the lower link hole, and have the exact roll center as before......?

When are those new arms coming out??????

MikeF....were gonna try to get some East Texas peeps at your race....I couldnt make it last year.....gonna try this year.

when building the transmission the manual recommands using diff lube on the gears. isn´t there a better lube for this job especially regarding low friction for stock racing? maybe teflon lube or any oil?

How should a person clean their bearings?

V12, yes, there are better lubes for the gears(& using diff lube is far too messy for that). Try going to some local bicycle shops to find something called White Lightning, it's a lube that goes on wet, but it dries leaving a coating of teflon behind, works very well & doesn't make a mess(I have a different one that goes on the same principle, works great & because I get it at work it's free, :D ). Yodace, when you should clean your bearings will vary by what surfaces & conditions you drive in, but you should check them after every run. If some look like there's some built-up dirt, then spray them out & re-oil them.....:)

Neither did I, I've been a bit short on cash since I had to buy some new tires for my full scale car, so the best I've been able to do has been running one car every other week(& I filed Chap. 13 almost 2 years ago & threw out all credit cards, so I'm stuck with cash only).....:spidey:

I did better than I expected. Ran TC on carpet oval this weekend. First time on carpet. Wow do you get traction! :smile:
Just h ave to get use to that. Broke the rear arm in pratice :p Now if I could just keep it off the wall........
