tc setup

just started testing the new 1.32 programmer software and 091107Stock esc profile.

The following is my esc setup

ESC: SP GT 2.0 (PRO)
Software: 091107Stock
DRRS: 6
FDR: 4.53
Battery: Thunder Power 7.4v 40C
Motor: SP V3 17.5R
Track: 90~100 Foot Straight away total 100/50 foot
SP ESC Timing: 26.5
Motor Timing: Max
Drag Brake: 10%

The car is running great and I am getting decent laptimes, please note the track still has the layout from the recent NEGS race.. I am happy with the esc setup/gearing etc however still need to work out the car setup..

Thanks, I tried that though, they cannot sell to UK since they don't want to step on the toes of Schumacher who distribute SP in the UK.

I am currently happy with my Hobbywing box, but I appreciate the help.

So the message I am getting is that this esc is now capable to have a timing increase with a new download and to get this download you have to have the previous 312? I am anxious to run this new profile in my F1 and WGT. Also what is the RPM of a stamped black can 13.5?

razzor 12-19-2009 01:06 AM

what is the difference between the 110stock and 107stock software as well as the 731c_t ?

I know this is a stupid question but does SP have a trade up policy? Like trade in your V1.1 with some cash to get the GT2.0?

Just to be sure, rotors from v2 can they be used with v3 motors?

lastsun 12-21-2009 02:13 AM

I use the Turnigy LCD program box from hobby city, same as hobby wing, same as speed passion. Works no problem with the SP speedy.

Had a good weekend with speed passion ESCs. can't say the same for the other brand motors I was running, had 2 21.5 fail. :flaming:

Guess its time for some speed passion ones! LOL

As a side question that probably could apply to any motors, what would cause a motor to not rotate unless you gave it alittle push? Also, this motor would rotate if I turned off my transmitter and it went into fail safe mode on the spektrum receiver (setup in correctly to "go forward"). no issues on ESC, tried with a different motor, worked fine.

And another general motor tech question, what would cause a motor to sound like its "whirring" up, sort of like when as a kid you put little plastic strips in your wheel spokes on your bike. Just not as loud.

Yup, they use the same rotor, Purple ring, 12.3mm outer diameter with a 7mm core.
I've been using a Red ring rotor recently in club races (12.5mm outer, 5mm inner... so more magnet volume ;) ). Lots of extra grunt, just need to gear up a couple of teeth to make it work best.

Anyway, just got back from my first running with the new stock software. Started out running the 110, before switching to the 107 later in the day. If anything, I prefered the 110 version, but need to do a bit more experiementing I think. There is a noticeable increase in revs over the 312 software I was using before, so had geared down quite a bit over previous

Unfortuantly, I had to drop back to a v2 motor, as my v3 10.5 had a problem with the sensor board plug vibrating itself loose... and the speedo then dropping into sensorless mode. But even then the car felt good, but could have done with the extra revs of the v3 for a bit more top end.

Anyway, settings...
Drag Brake; 5%
Low Voltage; 3.0v/cell
AMTS Timing; 26.25°
Start Mode DRRS; Level IX
Max Brake; 100%
Initial Brake; Drag Brake
Neutral Range; 6%
Overheat protection; disabled
Motor; Speed Passion v2 10.5t (purple/12.3mm rotor)
FDR; 5.9 - 6.0

Overall, very impressed... :)

Depends on your ESC settings, I've seen ranges between 36,000 and 72,000

Only the stockers, the V2 mod rotors have fans that wont fit the V3 mods
