The Speed Passion Thread
Would someone happen to have the latest software is it PC Interface V1.1.0.25 on hand at all to send via file transfer? The Speed Passion site seems to be down and can't seem to find the latest version of the software anywhere else! Need to change my 1.1ex from Modified to Stock mode via the prog card for tomorrows racing!!

G'day
I have the speed passion 3.0 brushless 21.5R (PN 138215V3)&
Retention R ESC (PN SP001278)
I purchase them Jan 2016
I am using it on 1:10 Touring car Serpent to race in
onroad 1:10 Touring car 21.5.
I get a grinding noise when I hit the throttle at the start of a race and when I have to run again after the car is stationary.
If I use 1/4 throttle and build up to full I don"t get the grinding noise.
I have been informed by someone that knows that its quite possible that the ESC and motor aren't compatible.
A few questions.
Would updating the ESC Firmware fix the issue of the noise comming from the motor (currently MOD0-V21)?
If so I have a few options which would best suit from below list?
Modify0 V21-af4c- for retention R
Modify0 V21-af2d- for retention R
Modify0 V21-af5a- for retention R
Stock1 V21- 0b9c- for retention R
Stock1 V21- for retention R
Will I need to bind the radio again after (DX3S)?
Can updating the firmware render the ESC useless?
Be greatly appreciated if someone could answer these questions.
Cheers

Have the the version GT(says only Gran Turismo on the the sticker on the side), with old type of program-card.
But I have the LCD from my Reventon Pro.
Would like to program the GT til Blinky, how to ?
Nothing happens on the computer when I turn on the Reventon-program,
with the GT hooked to the Reventon card ?
The GT ESC lights red then goes over to green double flashing.
Have also downloaded another older PC-program but can`t get connection with ESC ?

Since the Speed Passion website isn't very reliable, I decided to upload various Speed Passion Interface Programs.

or not ? Thanx!
I think you need the older black metal programmer for the GT series esc's. I don't think the revention programmer works.
Only thing you could really do is use the the grey box to change the timing to zero, but it won't blink.

AS an SP fan and owner of a GT series ESC, the ability to update and change the software to BLINKY can be done.
The current Reventon Prog. box CAN'T be used to update the firmware/software, however the older programmer or similar (such as the HW box below) CAN be updated.
http://www.hobbywing.com/product_show.asp?id=288
I've done it to my GT ESC, and its not difficult, but it IS a process.
Sounds like THIS is the ESC you have:
http://www.speedpassion.net/en/produ...802PROcb&c=ESC
(It should have the necessary links for the software Etc that you will need.)
-You will First need to download the Software for the ESC
-Next, you will follow the steps for updating the device firmware.
*You will format and replace the stock HW (or whatever prog. box you buy, since so many companies use the same box, but load diff. firmware)
-The instructions will tell you how to update the device (prog box) firmware to the latest, (for example HW Version.: 1.846367etc WITH SP version 1.984645 etc.)
-The Firmware for the device with update and when its turned Off and on, instead of HW it should indicate SP.
*All this is done even before you attach the ESC.*
Once the firmware is set to SP, you should then be able to connect the ESC and change the software (Profiles) from Default to STOCK0 which I believe is the Blinky mode.
Hope this helps point you in the right direction

he would need the older style black metal LCD programmer with the blue LCD screen. The software is still available on the SP website. I think it's on the 3rd download page. There are 2 revisions listed. Get the V1.38 and install it on your computer then update your programmer box. Once that is done, plug your ESC into the programmer and with a battery connected to the ESC, turn it on and it should connect to the box and computer. On the PC go to the ESC tab and then upgrade page. There will a list of software in the drop down box. select 508 no timing and upgrade. When it is done you can make changes to the settings and save. Turn off the ESC and unplug from the programmer. You are now in blinky mode.
By the way... the Hobbywing software and programmer box are the same as the SP for the GT speedies so either source will work fine.
I have a question for the forum. Today was my first outing in a year and a half and I was running USGT with a SpeedPassion Reventon R and the Fantom FR-1 21.5. When I hit the throttle from a dead start, the motor seemed to cog but once it got going it seemed ok. I changed sensor wires and it still did it. In the mains I hit that throttle at the start and it moved about an inch, stopped, I let off the throttle then on again and it went. Is this a motor problem or a ESC problem? It was very aggravating. I also asked this question in the Fantom thread too just to try to find some answers.
