SpeedPassionGT Does this :

what changes when rpm changes is ("Hybrid Drive")
("Hybrid Drive") switching between sensor and sensorless depend rpm.
"Therefore - any timing advance position on the motor (sensored based)
aren't used anymore".~Schumacher USA

Dynamic thing, is Timing Advance that will
take changes best/ideal advance timing level when/anytime
you're throttle position changes on transmitter.

I believe the GT2.0 no longer uses "hybrid drive". It is supposed to be a fully sensored system.

Exactly "hybrid drive" is conflict with Dynamic Advanced Timing,
because the best Timing would required sensored.

Irgo,

I never said dynamic timing = Team Wave timing shift.. From what i have read from the team wave forum, there "timing shift" setting is just a way to advance the timing in the esc. Nor did i mention anything about switching to sensorless.

also heres a quote from page 33 from Shawn palmer regarding the timing in the esc

Hi Benny,

Any physical advance already on the motor is a static baseline the software works off of. As for exactly how we're manipulating the timing within the ESC to get better top end and punch while still retaining runtime and keeping the motor cool - that's a secret ;)

Thats why there is different firmware versions tailored to stock and mod. Also from what i read into that quote from shawn, if they are able to get top end and punch while maintaining motor temps and runtime, it could be some form of timing change as the motor rpms change?.

The Teamwave speedy does use dynamic timing as does the SPX. I don't know enough about the GM or KO to know any detail as to how they work but I think they all use timming presets a bit like tekin. There are also other ways of increasing motor performance other than just timing which has negatives. The RB series TURBO function is a great example of increasing performance without sacrificing torque. Rather than go on and on about what you think its best you simply try as many speedo's as you can and use the one you like. However if you don't use a PC with your speedy then you are limited to only 2 speedies in terms of full tune ability.

MoonTrap 10-26-2009 01:13 PM

From my above post it "appears" the gt2 has something similar, like shawn mentioned, yet it does not have the turbo function.

Not everyone can afford to buy as many speedo's as they want, and test them all, i'm happy with the gt2, I'm not the one going on about what i think is best, my point has been that Irgo has being going on insisting that speed passion must do this and that in their firmware. Either way, im done debating over this, so lets get back to the thread at hand.

when the fixed motor timing is adjusted/set phisically,
the esc will add more timing depend on motor timing you set it, and how many esc timing you set.
so it's like motor timing + esc timing = total timing.

therefore some factory would recomend linear motor right now,
do to some knowledge about this. to avoid over timing.

some factory will add limited motor timing adjustment, to avoid the over timing.
hope this will help.

Thanks for your quick reply!
In fact if is independent among 2 types of timing, in the case you want to set timing, which 1 you will put to neutral to the other 1 try to go adjustment firstly, motor or ESC?

Best regards

In general its best to use zero motor timing (or what is inicated as zero) on any motor and use the speedy for top end. Only use the motors timing adjustment "IF" you can't get enough out of your motor with the speedies maximum settings. That said there will always be negatives to using too much timing.

Good idea.

Thanks!

Whoever said stock racing is cheap should try it with a 3200mAh old lipo and and old ESC :D. Out to buy a speedpassion ESC and a 50C lipo

I just want to post in and say that Schumacher customer service (distributor of Speed Passion) get's a HUGE thumbs UP from me.

I purchased one of the original Grand Turismo brushless ESCs a year and a half ago, and never had a chance to use it. When I pulled my gear out of storage, and tried to use it in WGT (with a 1C 3.7v LiPO), I was getting a strange acceleration hesitiation.

Figuring that I was well outside of my warranty period, I sent it down to Adam and crew just to see if there was something stupid I was doing.

Without prompt or argument, a week later, a small box appears at my door. A brand new ESC!

While I have to say "your results may vary", I have to give mad props to those guys!

If it is doing well i would say no, but at the same time keep a close eye on your motor temps
