Hi,

Just want to ask if I can use SP Version 3.0 in off road.
Im a little worried about the vents on the motor can.
It's ok if dirt gets in as long as it doesnt reach the rotor
area.

would be fine, infact BL is nicer rather than Brushed motor,
for Off-Road, since the cylinder magnets the one that rotates,
instead the winding doing the rotation on Brushed motor.

you should worried about the Sensor the most, on SPV3.0 BL Motor,
unless you are running sensoreless mode with SP GT2xx,
nothing you should worried about. :)

Does anyone know when SP ESC's will be back in stock. They are sold out everywhere.

Thanks

I run the V3 in 2wd buggy. I tapped the vent holes in my B4(13.5) and in my mid motor xfactory i removed the tape... No issues ever, very fast

Wow... I am really confused by the different ESC's, programmers and software

I am looking to run 17.5 TC (both no timing and open) as well as 10.5 TC
So for software; I imagine I use “508_no_timing” for 17.5 no timing and “528stock” for 17.5 open and 10.5?
As for which ESC: What is the difference between the GT2.1 Prostock (EXT98802PROscb) and GT2.0 LPF (EXT98802LPFcb)?

I am also running 17.5 12th scale no timing… so I guess the software to use is also “508_no_timing” and the ESC to get would be the GT V2.1 EX (EXT98802LPFSCB)?

As for the programmer; I suppose I need to pick up the “LCD Professional Program Card” (SPLCD01) and download the V1.32 software?

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated

I have a question. What is the difference between the new 2.1 GT ProStock and the GT 2.1 EX ESCs? Is it more than software?? I bought a 2.1 EX to run in my TC5 R w/a 13.5 or 10.5 motor on 2s and after looking online it seems like that might be too much for the ESC. Is that true??

PS: I do a lot of offroad racing and with a GT 2.0 Pro ESC the V3 17.5 is very fast in my b4 buggy w/no issues. Super smooth, fast, and runs very cool with a decent amount of timing and boost.

On the hardware side the EX series fully support 1s racing (12th, WGT) so you don't need a receiver pack or booster to provide addtional power to the servo. The EX speedos are also a tad bit lighter in weight and you don't need to use a fan on them. The Prostock series was mainly designed for stock class racers looking to shave a little weight off their car. You can use the same firmware on all the GT series speedos (GT 2.0 Pro, GT 2.1 Prostock, GT 2.1 EX). There are some guidelines on the SP site about using 2s with the EX speedos please read them. I suggest using either the GT 2.0 or Prostock with 2s and 13.5 and not an EX in your TC5.

That's what I was hoping not to hear. I read that its not recommended. I also saw that the ESC is smaller. Oh well. You live an you learn. I'll sell the EX and use something else. If you can't use it in a touring car, how do they think its going to work in an offroad buggy?

Try the 7.5 and 8.5 turns motor...these 2 winds are design for OFF ROAD use specificly....

Correct...508_no_timing for limited ESC spec and 528stock for OPEN speedo for 10.5, 13.5, 17.5 and 21.5.

GT2.1 ProStock has a aluminum case design, better way to destribute heat then the GT2 LPF version...GT2.1 ProStock is a newer model tehn GT2 LPF..GT2.1 ProStock also use a 30mm fan instead of the LPF use 25mm fan.

Yes, correct...and we are currently testing the new software specially designed for indoor carpet, TC and 12th scale with lower rpm engagment range which Josh Cyrul has been testing. Once they are ready to release, you will see that on Speed Passion website. EX is the ESC that you want for 12th scale or 10th scale WGT.

Yes, correct...you need that to upload future software onto the whole GT series ESC that you own....
