I just got back from the track. I tested out the new stock spec software along with the new Novak Ballistic 10.5 motor, have to say i was very impressed. I ended up gearing it at 6.25. The straight is about 40 meters long.
After a 6min run the motor came off at 61 deg |
i used the 110 software

i had been running on the original software out of the box for my GT2 PRO carbon with FDR 5.1 on a 11.5T, just load in the 110stock software. what FDR should i start with?
i had tried a 4 minutes run without changing any gearing and the temp went from 75d.c (6 mins run) to 125d.c in just 4 minutes!!!!!! help please... |
i would expect you to drop the pinion size by at least 4 - 5 teeth.

Software
Hi With the new software coming out for the Tekin will Speedpassion be coming out with new software to keep up with the Mambas and now the Tekins also? I'm tired of people saying the Speedpassion can't keep up! I think the Speedpassion is the most durable one out but am afraid I'm going to have to buy a Mamba if The new stock software 107-110 is not a major upgrade.I am going to try it today and see.

look forward to your feedback on the stock software.

I'm running a t2 009 with a lrp x11 17.5 with the gt 2.0 with 107(haven't tried it yet) but I'd been running a 104 spur with a 42 pinion giving ne a fdr of 4.21. Esc was barely warm to the touch coming off the track but I'm still learning on road. So what range of fdr do I need to shoot for as a starting point with the 107 software? |
The hobbywing 312 software should work on the speed passion correct? I was going to put it on instead if the 107 but it's not there on the 1.31 I downloaded. Any ideas where speed passions version if it is??

I also have a sp 2.0 lpf and a 17.5 (speedpassion blackcan not the new v3). The fdr with the stock firmware ran best at a 4.31, I installed the 107stock and went to track today and it seemed to work best with a 4.6. It had so much rip that i had to turn the drrs down from IX to VIII so it would quit blowing the tires out of the corners. The track owner has a radar gun and clocked it 3mph faster than previous firmware. Also the temp came off the same, 135 degees f. before and after the new firmware.

ESC: SP GT 2.0 (PRO) Software: 091107Stock FDR: 104/35*1.7 = 5.0 Battery: Thunder Power 7.4v 40C Motor: SP V3 17.5R Track: 100 Foot Straight away total 100/50 foot DRRS: 8 AMTS: 7 (22.5 degrees) Drag Brake: 10% Physical Motor Timing: 10 degrees The car is running faster with the new stock software and incredible torque, I have a feeling that 5.2 will end up being the best FDR for my setup and track. So far the lower I am going on the pinion, the quicker my lap times are getting and gearing is getting very close to a DUO/SPX type setup. |
Yes i'm running in a touring car, hot bodies cyclone wce 2.167, I never changed the software until today and the 107stock is the only one I tried but was VERY pleased with the results. The track has a 75 ft sraight and lap times average about 9.7 for the 17.5 a-main cars.

New software
I ran the 110 on my gt last night and it was not a big difference in power. I did win but there wasn't a mamba there or I would have been in trouble. I tried gearing down some but was slower so I geared back up and advanced the timing a little and it helped to get it back where it was the week before.I think the only way to get the speed like the mamba is to make some major changes in the way the ecs adds timing and what rpm it comes in. I hope it comes soon.
