Thanks for the advice Joey and sorry for the lack of detail. I was a bit rushed when I posted.
Anyway, I race indoors on carpet with rubber and foam tyres. I'm just getting my head round the setup that is currently on the car. I previously ran a Corally RDX and some of the terminology is different. I will try and fill out a setup sheet when I have time for you to look at and comment. Meanwhile I will try one of the basic setups you suggested.

I was trying to say, I guess in a sarcastic way, that the 416 is a very capable chassis.

I've been getting frustrated with the car. It is very 'pointy' and hard to drive smoothly. I've been searching through the forum and I have a few ideas to try. It seems the car is quite sensitive to ride height and droop settings. Something the old RDX didn't suffer from. Mind you it never had the turn-in that the 416 has.

hi Jilles , looking at the photos from the latest ets i noticed the trf team are using the drive pulleys ie diffs spun round so the belt is now on the lipo side of the car, allowing radio gear to be placed further inboard, is this a new chassis being tested or have they just been cutting the bottom of the chassis to make room for the spun pulleys?

also do you know what software marc and victor were using with their SP esc's ?

I'm pretty sure the 416 chassis u can change spur gears.

Your do you use bearings abec.35 in your chassis?

Your have you proved the new differentials of satellites?
And in any case they are better than those of balls.

unless he's changed recently I think you'll find Jilles uses KO servos
I think our spanish friend here is asking (via a web translator)
1) do you use abec35 bearings?
2) have you tried the spec R geared diff, if so, is it better than the ball diff

I think the rest of the stuff is all compliments

How to deal with the Tamiya B3 tire?
Our Tamiya cup want to have a outdoor race and B3 to be the control tire.
After I test the B3 and feels not so good that compared with Sorex 36.
So, do you have some experience on B3? Do I need to have some "treatment" on the tire before use it?

Just came back from two weeks of racing, one week of testing for Worlds in Germany and some days ETS racing before that.

- Stormperson
Normally most tyres work best with medium/soft feel of insert. A soft inserts gives more stable traction and prevent the rubber of overheating too much.
A hard inserts is faster but only works good when it is cooler.

- AZ416
Sometimes this happens that the wire comes unsoldered. This is most of the time that the motor gets too hot.
Try 12 AWG wire or solder with some silver.
Ofcourse it can be a faulty speedo but not sure.

- Extrememadness
I used the Serpent type of cleaning gum.

My basic set-up should be always good starting point.
- soft springs, soft oil also helps for lower traction tracks.

At this moment we test a lot of configuration with flipped belts, different chassis etc. This is the reason I had two cars at ETS but only was used for the picture. It's too close to the world champs now so not too much details can be revealed now. Don't know about the software Marc and Viktor used in their SP speedo's.

Viktor used standard configuration and moved the battery a little more outside to have good balance left and right.

Damn, I forget to tell Atsushim you know how it goes at races, always busy busy busy!! I tried a Sanwa small type servo, I think it's 801 type.

Honestly I don't know the Tamiya tyre so I can't help you with any advice.
I can only imagine that Sorex tyre should be better traction.

Good question! If you look closely at my car from ETS you see my electronics are very far inside. I flipped the belts and I move my battery as close to the front belt as possible. Additional weight was on my battery on the inside and outside.
