Hi Jilles,

Do you use the tightness of your diff as a tuning tool, or do you just run it as loose as possible without it slipping?

If you use it to tune the handling of your car, can you explain how you decide to run it loose or tight, and how you adjust it

thanks!

Hi Jilles

Wanted to know if you have tried the tuning rotors for the 2010 Orion vortex motors yet? Im looking at getting some but wondering which rotors would be best. I run on mainly medium - large size tracks, low/med grip with a 4t. Any advice with gearing for the different rotors would be great aswell, I run 9.2FDR with std rotor

Thanks, Corey

hey jilles

Iv noticed on yours, marcs and viktors car you often use different screws for the top deck, bulkheads and shock towers, what difference is there in using say the blue alloy screws to the standard steel ones?

Also when you remove the steering brace to get more flex in the front, is the car more likely to become tweaked if you have a direct hit etc?

thanks

Default Steering Throw Symmetry

I understand that it is important to set the same amount of steering throw for both the left and the right. This is to give consistent steering to both sides.

But what is the ideal or recommended throw angle to achieve? Btw what is the throw angle on your car currently?

- Kentech
At most track the Marc Rheinard additive works best with the 30X tyres.
20min with tyre warmers ( 60 degree ).

- Craig
I always adjust my diff as smooth as possible without slip. When you tight the diff more then it will wear faster.

- Corey
This is a link on the Orion Website about the new armatures:
http://www.teamorion.com/Products/Vo...2010+Armatures

Most of the time I use the 12.5 diameter rotor with 5.5 inside. This gives the best rpm/torque. Also the driveability is very smooth with this armature.
For a medium/large track I suggest a fdr of 8.5 with 4.0T motor.

- AZ416
That's true. I normally use the steel screws for the topdeck because you tight and untight these screws very often. For the shocktower I use the blue alu screws and the bulkhead clamp most of the time titanium.
Alu is the most lightest but the weakest, and even team drivers can't replace the screws all the time.

I know Marc and Viktor like to use the steering without brace. I always use the brace as I think the steering is more consistant with the brace, especially in highspeed corners.

I always use 100% steering throw. But when I drive I not use all the throw all the time. Only when I need more steering, I will use it.

Default Mazda light Weight

Hi Jilles,

Do you only use this body when your looking for more traction?
Donīt you think the rear wing is to thin for a high speed straight?

thankīs

I'm going through spool plastic drive cups like crazy. Aside from using 46mm shafts is there any other solution? Just ordered a gear diff to use up front because i can't find spool cups. I'm running mod on a bumpy parking lot with an x12 5.5.

Roche spool with steel cups or Spec R spool

The Spec-R ppool looks like it's put together similar to the Photon spool. I may have to try one of those.

Hi Jilles
I have Qs about your setup...
In your 2010 TITC setup sheet, why you put an O-ring on the bladder in shock? Because, you said that we need to keep 0 rebound of the shock. Was TITC got too much grip that made you need more rebound? If it is so, why you used 700 oil? Why not to try thinner oil like 400 to get more rebound?
Another Q is how you against a low traction controlled tire and which is easily overheat?

Thanks in advance!

Regarding the oil, I believe the ambient temperature was around 40degC so 700 would be like running 500 in "normal" temps. The grip was also quite high so the thicker oil stopped the car from being overgripped
