If you have the aluminum center shaft it more then likely has mushroomed slightly on the ends from tightening it. Causing it to be darn near impossible to remove from the bearings, lightly grind the OD of the shaft till it will slide out.
Remember to clean the shaft before trying to remove it, otherwise the grinding debris will cause a similar problem.
This is one of the reasons the new steel shaft came out.

Unless I'm missing a spot, I see that this car is backordered everywhere. Is this due to some running change or the new chassis kit?

The kit has become very popular and sells out quickly. TOP USA is expecting the new kits around the middle of the month. Try to be patient and it will be worth it.
