Best is to buy hex tools 1.5,2,2.5 and 3mm.
With those you can build the Photon and most other cars.

Guess I need to go and read the manual online and get all the right tool sizes. Have not purchased a TOP yet. Still evaluating the TOP versus the Xray.

And a 5.5mm nut driver if there are any M3 nuts. And associated makes a really cheap flat steel 5.0 and 5.5 combo wrench that's handy, too.

Has anyone o/s tried these yet?... what is the advantage?

I personally think the kit standard arms are rock solid, i wouldn't have thought there would be much gain in stiffening them?

Is there a softer version in the works at all?

Just curious as to where the demand for these came from.

Cheers

The weight difference is one thing, but the car also reacts different according to how soft or hard the plastic parts are. I dont think it has anything to do with durability, but performance. I bet these arms are quite like the Tamiya arms.
It can be better in situations with good grip, and maybe a little worse on low grip tracks. - Only 1 way to find out. Test and look at the lap times

The suspension arms were developed some time ago. I used these on my car at the ROAR Carpet Nats and since. The lighter weight increases responce and traction. The samples I recieved are about the same stiffness as the stock arms but a ton lighter. Not sure what's happened in production now.

Thanks for that Josh, guess i'll have to get some to try!

I would have thought being stiffer they would reduce traction, more or less, which just seemed odd given the stiffness of the Kit arms. Interesting that you say it actually improved traction, which would be great out here on our tracks.

Cheers

My U-pro gear diffs are making a little metal, after 5-6 runs the fluid is clearly dirty (gray) and action isn't smooth. Clean them up and fresh fluid and they're good to go again. I should mention, these diffs probably have 40 runs on them. Anyone else finding the same...maybe it's time to rebuild??

I saw the same, I am testing one with the shims removed from the spiders on the pin, it feels better on the bench, but I can tell there is more lash now. I won't get to the track with it for 2 weeks though.
