New Yokomo TC, the BD-5
#467
Wow! I am not trying to disrespect the guy who had issues with his BD-5 based on alignment. However, I have had nothing but good luck with my BD-5 car. I have even gone head-on into a board with it and have not done anything more than destroy the foam and lexan.
The car is great! I suspect that the "one" yokomo that had a problem with quality was just that...one car! I am sure other companies have "lemon" cars also.

Nasty Comments withdrawn.
I would like to thank RC Champ again for their assistance, and it is in their interest to keep the customer happy, because if I switch to another car, they will loose a customer from the poor customer relations from the manufacturer.

Well finaly I have received a reply back from Yokomo and I think that Martin Hofer may have sent them a nudge to address the problems.
Thank you guys.

New BD5 option parts !!

I drove the BD5 again this weekend. It seems the cars was a little pushy loose in hairpin corners. I had basically the stock setup except the front shocks were moved out a hole.
Otherwise the car was great!
Martin, I saw that you changed your roll center in the rear a little. Did you do that for the loose reason?
BTW I am runniing a spool

Well it has taken a couple of weeks, but Yokomo are replacing the parts on my car. This has made me very happy and can now get on with racing.
I also ran the car yesterday at one our local tracks and was very happy with the performance with some minor changes. Mainly reduced the inner front camber link spacer to 1mm and front shocks up one hole from standard, 1.3mm sway bars F&R. A bit of a fun day, as I was getting use to a new radio along with the car setup.
So far, no wear on the rear out drives, I have been using HPI heavy grease and regularly clean and lube the outdrives and shafts, takes all of 10 minutes work.

and 1.75 under the rear ballstud + 1mm on the hub was what felt best to me
at last weekends race we used kit setup which means 2mm under the front ballstud and one under the rear ballstud with 1mm on the rear hub
little more steering round hairpins

Martin,
Could you please list or direct us to a list of the different suspesion blocks and how to work out the angle change to change the toe and track on the BD5?
Part numbers would be nice as well if you have them available.
