You might get the feeling of having more initial traction with the thinner chassis, but I feel that I have more steering and more corner speed with the 3mm chassis with the same rear traction!!
I also tested this with the old car and 3mm was much faster!!
Did you check out your laptimes when you tested?

I will do some more testing. Til now I have had the same laptimes with both chassis, this with the MSX.

Anybody that saw my post earlier about the steel outdrives I made for the Tamiya Spool, they work great I ran probably 25 packs through them with no problems.

The Square RC Servo/Personal transpmount is pretty awsome. Although i believe you have to shim the mount 4mm from the servo on the MSX like i have to on mine using the old regular transponder mount.

I ran my TRF415MSX last night with the gear ration 6.03. The track layout was tight and this time I feel that the car was faster. I think I am used to noisy shaft driven cars so when I switch to this car, I can't hear the noise so it feels slow. Actually, I am more consistant with this car than my EVO4.
