Look closley at that chassis on his foam car i think that is a 3.5mm lower chassis with the gearbox's, steering, and suspension blocks all milled lower. If you look closley at where the standard none MSX has the mid decks you can see round holes milled in the chassis where the braces go. Also look where the rear gearbox mounts, you can see bare carbon where its been milled where the droop screw is.
Well spotted Rick - you are eagle eyed!

Marcīs father said on the German forum Tamiya had some 4mm chassis made for this race.
He used a prototype 4mm chassis on his foam car and the 3mm chassis on the rubber car.

Remember when they had the 415 chassis milled solid where the batterys sit for the carpet race in europe? They were milled with slots but not right through.

MArc and Toni were hanging out at the Roulette wheel with Hara, Surikarn, Moore, late sunday night, and had to get shoo'ed away cause of the age deal. gotta be 25 in the gambling area! a buddy of mines wife was with 'em... said they were really nice, and all were having a good time!!!

Also, props to TCS GT1 National Champion Corey Lewis for flying in Thursday night for his first time ever on carpet with no chassis, radio, or body, having a long island ice tea and qualifying cold turkey with no practice and making the A-Main in stock . precision
The chassis is brand new. Marcs mechanic brought it directly from japan to vegas. The other chassis you mentioned was for the LRP Race in Germany 2004. It was 3mm but without battery slots. Did not work very well at the race.

I ran the stock MS Chassis (2.5mm) as I don't have an MSX yet. As Rod indicated Marc's chassis was 4mm prototype for foam. If there is enough demand in north america Tamiya may produce it. Marc also ran a new front diff that Tamiya will be releasing (I just don't know when). For Rubber tires Mark ran the original 415 with the old suspension.

And to think-I passed up 415 only a week or two ago. Man-I wish I had bought that...OH-well-I got a TA05 for now......
From what I heard the Tamiyas were flat dialed in foam mod sedan.

im thinkin a 4mm chassis and a solid 3mm upper deck would have that car on a LOT of carpet tracks.

Were you Vegas foam guys running the HPI pro4 knuckles-or did you have prototype knuckles too?
