Tamiya TRF415
#2146
I think there is a carpet setup somewhere in this thread. I think they run blue and white springs but I am not sure. The AE springs are a lot harder than the Tamiya ones. I personally think the softer setup work better for the 415 but I only run on prepared asphalt...

Hey Jeff, I remember a page or 2 back that you said your drive train is very free. You can spin it almost like a shaft car. Mine is free like that too. I'm just curious if you are still (or have been) using a clipped belt. I currently do and I race stock class only with this car. Just wondering....

This was posted on another forum, but thought I might get some responses here...
My question to you is - is the 414 World's front swaybar kit able to be retrofitted to a 415? Since the suspension arms are the same, I was curious if you know the answer to this...
Also, does the 415 have the same hinge pin set as another existing Tamiya car?
Lastly - what is your opinion of retrofitting a front tie-rod set (torque rod reinforcement), like the 414M2?
Thanks - having fun playing with this car...

Ahhhh, I see.....
I was reading in earlier literature that because of the way it was positioned, that it would have a more direct connection to the suspension arms and work better... But if it is just b/c of the raised bulkhead, that makes me feel better...
It does look really cool though! I've already seen it on one 415...
Cheers

Yes actually they are like Yokomo upper and lower sway bars. The lower sway bar mounts around mid arm. The upper sway bar mounts alittle farther out giving it more leverage. Thus it works alittle more than the lower bar.

pulley
When locking the center pulley, how is this done. are people gluing it or drilling a pin through it. if it is glued, where do you place the glue to lock it?
thanks in advance

you need to buy another center pulley. then get a dremel and dremel a flat spot on the center shaft so the second center pulley has a place to screw down on.
you also need to dremel down the spur gear and both center pulleys so they fit. there are pictures on this thread about 10 pages back. take a look.

Titanium Axles
Anyone using the Square or Tamiya optional titanium axles? Do any of them really make a difference in the performace of the car? In what way and by how much? Which of the two is better? Could they also be used in the front or just the rear durability wise? Thanks.
