I would agree, that receiver "shield" doesn't do much of anything except look good by hiding the black receiver plastic. It doesn't shield the wires or plugs where they connect, it doesn't seal or waterproof anything, no dust protection...calling it a "shield" is practically a misnomer. Receiver "bling" is all it is.

i guess you could use it in place of added weight? i had though of making a modders mesh box to house my rx, esc, Cap and PT and it would look pretty cool for sure, but adds weight, takes away from the whole fast plug and play and would probably inhibit airflow around said electronics. i just make it a point to not have them hang off the chassis if possible. let the cf take the hit, though in my Team magic, thats pretty much impossible.

If you've got the space and weight, which you should if you're running a shorty servo, it seems like a nice way to dress up an otherwise boring plastic case.

What's holding your fans placed behind the motor on TCs? I need to reconfigure my cooling since the motor is overheating and decided to put the 2nd fan behind the motor but the only two ways I see to fix the fan are CA or quality double sided tape, none of which I'd like for the job

Double sided tape or shoe-goo. I've had some devastating crashes and have yet to loose a fan with double stick tape. Shoe-goo it and it'll never unintentionally come off.

Very nice!..

I also have a savox servo but i cant seem to open the back part to solder/make the wires shorter. Did you replace the wires with black?

Thanks!

You just take out the 4 screws on the back of it and remove the plastic rear plate.

Ok im going to try it again.. i did remove the screws but somehow the board is pretty tight. The wires were soldered from the under the board. Thanks !

You dont remove the board. Just the plastic piece at the end. The wires are soldered on the otherside of the rear board but go through the board. You unsolder them from the side you can see. Then re-solder them on the opposite side.

Sorry that probably isn't too clear but thats the best way to describe it without pictures.

I have used the Reflex fan mount on 4 brands of cars, with great results. I highly recommend it!
