I can only agree. I didn't want to say buy used XRay, because someone could say that I'm biased toward XRay. Truly I belive any used top car can be great for begginer, but Xrays are proven that their box setup is great starting point and need just minor tweaks dependending on each track. From what I've said before about Tamiyas and top competition used car - yes it was Xray.

Tried the X-Rays myself, even a 415MSXX but am back to a TA-05 now, and you know what, on most club days I'll be inthe amain amongst a sea of X-Rays and my parts are half the price.
I had an X-Ray once, but I couldn't afford the payments on the parts!
And Tamiya bits are usually the easiest to find in Australia. I can name 7 or 8 online stores that do Tamiya Parts, X-Ray maybe one or two.
The X-Rays are nice for bling / show and if you're hardcore, go for it, but a good driver in a TT-01 Tamiya will still beat a bad driver in the latest X-Ray perfectly set up.

ive noticed that you are joining scrccc and have posted everywhere to look for a good rtr car to run.
the local toyworld in warana and noosa are useless, so its good to buy from either down south or overseas * when the aus dollar is better *
if u want to get anymore info on finding a good rtr car we are holding our first night meet on the 10th starts at 6:00pm i think.

Mate I can't make the 10th because I work on a Saturday from 4pm til 11pm.
I am not actually looking for a RTR more a kit but Kits seem to turn out more expensive.
Anyways I am looking at this car: http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/rc-bod...cPath=420_1171. Not from that site if I can get a cheaper and closer alternative.
Yep the Toyworlds are not so good and I doubt my parents are willing to travel south just to look at RC cars. I'd love to make it but I can't maybe see you on the 18th I dunno.

ah right, kool, yes losi xxx-s are no good, well if u are look for a good 540 car any of the high performance roling chassis are goign to do well., but for a beginner, i would go with the hotbodies, as they look really good.
amainhobbies.com have the chassis for sale for like $150 us, but by the time u do te conversion and post , ur probaly looking around the $250 mark.
