Here is a great example of suction fans put to good use in racing from the late 60's. The system creates MUCHO down-force with ZERO additional drag. The trick was to attach the Lexan skirts to the suspension so they always stayed the same distance from the ground no matter the suspension position. This is what lead to the designs disqualification from CAN-AM as it was deemed "moving aero parts"...

I used to own a Type R, but didn't get around to taking any pics of it before I sold it on and bought a WCE Cyclone, but it did sit central as apposed to the location that the manual suggest you mount them on the brackets given in the kit. It sat perfectly central to the motor, and directly over the brush hood.
