Did the desinger get the idea of the front of the F1 cars from a Tintin character?

You're right. I guess "soft" is not exactly the right word. It's one of those conditional compromises. Usually one of those decisions we make and then don't have to change much once we get our cars driveable at our local track. The surface doesn't change much and we only require minor dialing for traction. Going under 10 in/lb is too soft and going over 13 in/lb for the center spring generally is too hard in my opinion. I think the stock spring for the SP-1 is just over 11. I'm happy with the stock spring and adjust with oil to change rebound speed. My F1R is the red Tamiya 11.2 spring and response is similar. Both cars have a ton of steering and I usually have to dial out some steering. Small steps one way or the other and a 1/2 in/lb on the spring rate is usually enough.
so, i have a tamiya f104 v1. so far i have the aluminum motor mounts, aluminum diff and i have a trf shock on the way. what other hopups should i get for my f1? im racing carpet. just got a new f60 body to paint up. running the shimizu tires 571/2 setup. i did have the high traction tbar but that broke last weekend so i went to the soft tbar. didnt notice too much of a difference. so what else should i get for this thing. for durability, ease of setup etc.
ps. i race with that guy just above this post.

My F104 Pro Black Edition with X1 rear dampener.
The gold didn't match up front thanks in part to the hobby shop owner suggesting another colour from the one I originally picked Waiting for my gold wheels and then I can mount my rubbers. A few decals left to put on as well.

ok i have to ask. in the first pic in the above post. the upper arms look like carbon. are they or is that carbon sticker? i keep seeing it on various f1 cars on here. would like to know where i can get that. it looks cool and makes the look of the car.
