F1 retro is still by far the most popular class over here, and anywhere around the world that has a history of F1 racing, although we still only allow f1 style front ends and wheels.

F1 here is so much more popular now with rubber tires
D-Main deep most race days
For me, the cars are more difficult to drive on rubber (less fun), but if that's what gets people out racing, so be it

Here's my F104 V2 with a Ferrari F60 body in Racing Green....too many red F1 cars at our local track!

Fortunately there are enough of us that can still get our foam tire kicks in 12th scale

Right now the predominant car on our track is the FGX but I think with the HPI tires working as well as they are the F104 may be the better way to go now. I plan to test my F1R with the HPI tires when I get back from the IIC.

A great day at RC City in Bangkok for the RIDE Cup Round 3.
16 F1 cars for 2x 8min qualifiers and a 10 minute A Main Final with all cars!
Pit stop required between the 5th and 7th minute for a tyre change.
All cars were required to use RIDE's great R1 compound tyre, 17.5t motors and stock ESC's.
I was very happy to get 1st with my F104V2, my good buddy Ludo 2nd with his HPI F10 and Shin Adachi with his HPI F10. We had some amazing help from our tyre changers, namely Jilles Groskamp, Atsushi Hara and a few of Thailand and Japan's top drivers....A good day out!

I ran 8.5 (what's boost again?) at 60 to 80%, track size and traction being the limiting factor and at the last race I sacked up and ran 100% with near perfect traction.
That was a fun class and I'd sign up to do it again in a second!
Game on!
