I am interested in the F1 Style car
Any recomendation of which car to buy?
I want to be able have fun at the many local so cal rc tracks at the same time not break the bank?
I was looking at the FGX but after I read buy the nec. upgrades I was looking at the F104 prices.
If so I see on tqracing the F104x , F104pro or even the f104w GP.
Any ideas/help?

My FGX is competitive and the only upgrades I have are sway bar kit, piano wire with shoe goo to fix front end durability, option spur gear kit so I can properly gear a 21.5 motor , spring kit and a ball diff... Your looking at $48 in hop ups on a $120 car... Not bad...

Don't go cheap on the radio and servo! Seriously. The lag in my old radio made the F1 experience mushy. I might have had better luck running it with a walkie-talkie.
Either car will make you smile once you get it to handle, and that is priceless. You get to choose.

At least as important, make sure the servo is tight. There should be no movement of the servo relative to the car. I've found the usual foam servo tape to be particularly bad in this respect. In the past I've either ty-rapped the servo down (in addition to servo tape) or used shoo-goo. I've found the latter to work brilliantly, but it's not a quick trackside fix .

Fortunately, this place is quite local to me, so it was an overnight post job:

Seems to have a massive range of pretty much everything from 1/10 to 1/64, but I haven't used them before now. They do ship around the world.

Figured I would start here since this forum is more active than the Exotek forum. I am about to build a Exotek F1R and I wanted to get a gearing recommendation if i could. My gear with either be the 93 Tamiya Spur or and 88t or 84t aftermarket spur that holds 12 balls. Its an asphalt track 170x68. thanks in advance
