Interesting that they chose to use a sway bar to control rear movement rather than springs other cars use.

It is the tech car under a new name. Not bad really since Himotousa may start bringing them here. If they can supply parts then all the better since it will be an RTR. One more to join the fun.

This came from Terry.sc about the Himito.

"It's a rebadged bottom spec Tech Racing F125 with their Toyota body, model number F125TYK.

One of our club members ran a TF125, gripped well until he found the weak point of the car. He bent the rather thin alloy cross brace the rear pod pivots on, then found it impossible to get spare parts to fix it, even direct from Japan. I guess we'll have to see if Himoto will improve the parts availability."

It's all about spares, let's see what they do with it.

Interesting car, checked out the link and went to the Himoto website as well. I wish they had better pictures and more info about it though.

How much does it cost?

Not sure yet. I sent a contact to himoto usa. I do know it will be an RTR and that's about all so far.

I saw this HIMOTO F1 last weekend on our local track... It runs very fast, but chassis is very fragile.

@MikeR:

I have some random Orion/Venom/Reedy brick lipo packs (currently used in my Touring car) that are taller than the Orion pack you have in the pictures on your website. Will they still fit the chassis (EXO103), or do i have to add shims to make the upperdeck a bit higher? Thanks!

i would have to say that the 2011 HRT car livery is much better compared to what they had last year...

last year's HRT looked a bit like an incomplete car to me... almost like the 1992 Andrea Moda car.

First $400 gets it shipped to their door looking just like this chassis and all with full bearings an all stainless steel hardware.
Going to build another when this one leaves

Shadow, that Lotus 79 has to be your best one yet hands down!!! Gorgeous!!

That has always been my favorite of the JPS Lotus'es

Unfortunately, money is tight right now; but, boy if I had an extra $400 lying around I'd be all over that car!!

How did you deal with that gawd-awful front bumper that Tamiya includes with the car? Looks like you just left it off. Over on one of the other F1 threads, I think it's the one titled "Tamiya F104 Pro", there are pictures and a link to TRG who have a front bumper that is cut to follow the lines of the nose and front wings so that it barely shows at all. Check it out. Goes for around $11 on ebay.

Also, where did you get the John Player Special decals as Tamiya doesn't include them?

Again, simply beautiful!!

Thanks for the props, I really enjoyed seeing this one come together. Yeah I left the bumper off for display, as it is not pretty and ruins the scale appearance of the car. The front body mount actually mounts on the front suspension. Decals are Decal Island from DDrive. I have 2 more sheets bought in anticipation of demand for this car. This is one of my favorites as well and a very iconic racecar. I need to once again thank my buddy Dish for doing such killer shots of the car.
