Default Xray copies

I had to look twice when I saw it on eBay, but is this a case of a Far East factory copying Xray cars?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1-10-RC-T2008-...QQcmdZViewItem

The specification looks like it was pulled straight from Xray's website, and the car looks very similar to an Xray 007 apart from a few differences (black plastic bulkheads etc).

Another car they do is an M18 copy.

I know its happened in the past with Tamiya TL01's and Associated RC18T's, but is this the first of a wave of higher-end chassis being copied?

Looks like the CF chassis is a fake too. Might be the photos though.

It even comes with aluminum shock bodies and a battery strap.

You know, an entry level kit that was made to be parts compatible with more expensive kits, and had a nice upgrade path as the driver improves seems like something R/C needs more of. You see it most with Tamiya, and then some with the T2R and Cyclone-S, but it doesn't seem to get enough attention.

If the manufacturers aren't willing to do it themselves, maybe it'll take a Chinese clone factory to force their hand.

Looks like a 008 to me when you look at the c hubs and the large opening for the CVD's.

Personaly i don't care about this (and i think i am not the only one) if i have to pay less than half an 008 costs.

You mean like Losi's LCD's?

Anyway, good luck with the copyright fight in China.
