Anyone have any mounted pictures of the EZrun in a TA05? Thinking of picking on up for club racing.

thanks

Hi, I want to run as fast as the Novak GTB and Novak 6.5 T brushless motors at my local track in the club's standard 2WD buggy the Associated B4. However GTB is 150 GBP / 225 USD. I see that I can get a seemingly quite similar performance (?) from this 48 USD (plus 16 postage) EZrun 60A controller (don't see why I need much more Amp's capacity, for acceleration at least, since modern off road buggies have slipper clutches which will waste power of a more punchy ESC I think?). So that seems to be the ESC sorted at an affordable price.

However I am going to need a 6T motor and the branded brushless 6T motors from UK are horrendously expensive IMHO at 75 GBP or more. Just like with the ESC above is there a similar idea of a motor which is around 6T which is much more affordable and just as fast as an e.g. 6.5 T Novak motor whilst running at a reasonable temperature (i.e. that won't cause magnet damage) when running in e.g. an Associated B4 2WD off road buggy, weight about 1600 grams I think, with gear ratio to match the speed of the 6.5T Novak?

From what I read here the 5.5T EZrun seems to run hot compared to similar motors?

I'm looking for a motor that can match the Novak 6.5T speed but still run cool enough not to damage the magnetic rotor, whilst being much more affordable.

Anyone?

Cheers,

Alistair G.

Here's one, not that tidy though. Its a little hard to see cause of the bathtub type chassis, the capacitors are mounted between the motor and esc and they block the programing lights a little bit but is still all right.
Hope it helps.

Default Which EZRun BL setuo for Tamiya TA-05?

Hello

What would be a good choice for a Tamiya TA-05 in the EZRun models? I was thinking about a 35A ESC + 9T motor...
What do you think?

Thanks

The 35A and 9T will be fine for your TA-05, just don't use that setup in any of your offraod cars.

Just a quick question guys, can i run a novak sensored motor with my HW esc? Just not connect up the sensor wire? I will be only using it for bashing if that makes a difference?

I only have the true 540 sized motor so I can only speak from what I've read in here. If your using it on a 1:10 offroad buggy, or anything smaller it's going to be OK. Anything bigger and it starts to get hot! Some people have had good luck running it in 1:10 trucks like the T-4, and XXX-T, but I would just go for the 60A ESC and full sized 540 motors if your going to be going that route.

Ancient proverb says .... "If all else fails, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS !!!!"

Is it that hard to read the instructions?

No need to be rude!

Yes advancing the timing will increase speed however it'll also greatly increase motor temperature as well. With non sensored motors you are better off using your gearing to get to the speed you want, and keep in mind as these Ezy-run motors use the same rotor as in a 380 size motor, they can't be pushed as far as say a Medusa or Traxxas VXL motor.
